"Wake up sleepy head. It's almost noon and you've got class at 1." Ash stirred Byron from his slumber on his chest. Byron looked up at his best friend and squinted from the sunlight reflecting off his eyes and flawless skin. He had the sexiest, half-messed up bed-head that drove Byron crazy. That's when he remembered...morning wood. Byron glanced down to his crotch, relieved when he realized he was still in the khaki joggers he had on last night. While he was still able to see a hint of a bulge, he knew Ash wouldn't notice. Byron got up slowly off of Ash and rubbed his eyes. He yawned and got off the couch to go shower. "Whatcha doing today Ash?" asked Byron, who had left the bathroom door open and was yelling from the shower. "I'm thinking about skipping class and heading to the mall," Ash yelled back. "Sounds like a plan, we'll go right after I get out," responded Byron.
Ten minutes later, Byron and Ash were walking down the stairs to the lobby. They hopped into Byron's car and sped off. Ash connected his phone to the car's bluetooth and started playing IV. Sweatpants by Childish Gambino, their go-to car song. Byron texted the squad.
Byron: Fuck class, come to the mall with me and AshA few minutes later he got a response.
Jack: Picking the girls up now, be there soonByron pulled into the parking lot and waited for the rest of the group to show up. He cranked up the volume as Loft Music by The Weeknd came on. They started singing along and dancing when Caitlin slammed on the driver side window. The boys screamed and jumped. They turned down the music and rolled down the windows. Jack and Gabby came to the passenger side laughing. Ash and Byron both flicked the group off repeatedly saying, "Fuck you guys."
The boys hopped out of the car and the group walked into the mall. As Byron was expecting, they only made it 20 feet before Caitlin said, "I'm hungry, let's go to the food court." The group walked past all of their favorite stores en route to food heaven. When they arrived to the utopia of delicious nourishment they took a walk around to get free samples from all the angels holding trays. They all decided to order at Chick-fil-a then sat down. As they devoured their food ravenously a breaking news story flashed up on the TV's. "Breaking news, reports say a young man has been found dead in his apartment. An apparent suicide, 20 year old Julian James Walker's death has been ruled as an overdose on a mixture of pills. His friends and family, distraught, have begun plans on a funeral and memorial."
"Omg that's so horrible. Such a shame that he had to die so young.", said Jack. "Yeah he was cute too, almost looks like you though, Jack.", replied Byron. The group chuckled
nervously and continued eating. Once they all finished, Byron took the lead and brought the group to his favorite store, Rue 21. Him and the gang shopped around a bit some more before heading to check out some other stores. They chatted and gossiped as they made their way through the mall. Eventually, their day would turn sour though. As the group passed Hot Topic, a familiar but unwelcome pair of faces greeted them in the doorway. Two Hispanic chicks, one who's hair suggested that she was attempting to imitate My Little Pony, and the other looked like the human equivalent of a migraine. "¡Ay dios mio!", exclaimed Caitlin in annoyance. "We got a problem?", asked the rainbow-haired girl, standing defensively. "Dora no one was talking to your My Little Pony lookin ass. Now take Boots," retorted Gabby gesturing towards the girl standing next to Dora, "and go explore some shit somewhere else."
The group whooped and hollered as they ushered the heated Gabby along, away from Dora and her sister, Daria. They hurried to the group's choice store for clothes, Hollister. The group somehow managed to convince Jack and Byron to try on some girls pants. As the boys emerged from the fitting rooms, the group catcalled and snap chatted them. Ash gave Byron a suspiciously lingering look that made Byron wish he wasn't wearing such form fitting pants. After the group got their laughs in they browsed the store until everyone approached the counter one by one, arms laden with clothes.
Once they left the store though, they would encounter something that would shake them to their cores, but bring them closer as friends.
