POV: Lucy
I woke up. I looked over at the beds, after sitting up, to see Levy and Juvia sharing a bed and Erza in the other. I'm going to guess that if I hadn't been already sleeping on the couch I would have been sleeping with Erza. I took the blanket off and swung my legs over the edge of the couch. My feet landed on something warm and I looked down to see Natsu laying on the floor.
'What's Natsu doing in the girls room?'
I stood up and walked around him carefully not to wake him. I then went to the sliding glass door and slowly slid it open and stepped out onto the balcony. I looked over the edge of the balcony to see that we were at least on the third floor.
"What are you doing out here?" I looked behind me to see Natsu was slowly closing the slider door.
"Just getting some fresh air." I said looking out at the water. He came up next to me and leaned on the balcony with me.
"Feeling better?" Natsu asked.
"Much." I nodded. "Why are you sleeping in the girls room?"
"I-I just passed out on the floor right after dinner." He said blushing a bit. "You missed out on a good dinner." Natsu said.
"Who cooked?" I asked starting to think about food.
"Gajeel." He answered. "He made fried chicken."
"Gajeel can cook?" I asked, not believing my ears.
"Yeah. And don't tell him I said this, but he's not that bad of a cook." Natsu slightly whispered to me. I giggled. Then my stomach decided to speak up instead of letting my mouth do the work. It growled. Loudly. We both giggled. "Hungery?"
"Yeah." I slightly giggled.
"Wait here." He said, and then walked back into the room quietly. A few minutes later Natsu came back outside with a plate in hand. "Here you go." He said handing me the plate.
"Thanks." I said taking the plate. There was fried chicken, steamed carrots, mashed potatoes, and a buttered roll. "You didn't have to do that."
"It's okay." Natsu shrugged. "It's fair, you've provided food for me. Many times." I nodded in agreeance. After a while, I had finished eating and set the plate a side. Me and Natsu looked out at the water that had the moon reflecting on it. I then started shivering as the wind picked up. Natsu then instantly wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"Umm. Natsu?" I felt my face start to heat up.
"Yeah?"
"What are you doing?"
"You were shivering. So I thought I'd warm you up." He said. I looked at him and saw that his face was as red as a cherry. I giggled. "What?"
"Your face is red." I said poking his cheeks. He swatted my hand away.
"That's because of your doing." He said. He then froze realizing what he had said aloud. I pulled away.
"Umm . . . . I-I-I think we should probably go b-back inside and g-get some more rest. We do have a big day in the morning." I said fast and awkwardly. I then ran back inside as quietly as possibly and I threw myself onto the couch. I laid on my side, facing the away from the couch, hiding my face with the blanket.
'What was that? What was that supposed to mean? Does he-? No no, he couldn't. After all, why would he?'
Natsu then walked in and shut the door quietly. And then I heard him walk in front of me. I could slightly see him through the blanket crouching down in front of me.
'Crap! Natsu don't lift the blanket!'
I couldn't have been more wrong.
"Luce? What are you doing?" Natsu whispered. He lifted up the blanket right in front of my face.
"Hiding." I whispered back.
"From what?" He asked turning his head to the side with curiosity.
"The boogey man." I said teasingly in a little kid's voice. Natsu giggled at my childness.
"You don't need to hide from anything. I'll protect you." He said moving the blanket away from my face.
"From the boogey man?" I asked him In the child's voice again.
"Not just the boogey man, I'll protect you from anything you're scared of." He said. I felt my chest warm up. But not as hot as my face was. I covered my face with my hands, and rubbed my eyes to make it look more natural than just me hiding my face.
"I think I'm going to go back to sleep." I said yawning. Natsu nodded and tucked me in a bit then laid back down on the floor. I looked over the edge of the couch to see that Natsu didn't have a pillow. I grabbed one of the extra pillows that were on the couch and swung it at his face.
"Gaaah!" He yelled in the pillow as it hit his face. "What was that for?" He asked after he moved the pillow away from his face.
"I thought you would like a pillow." I said trying to hold in my laughs. He took the pillow from me and hit me lightly on the face before putting it under his head.
"Thanks. Night Luce, see you in the morning." Natsu said closing his eyes.
"Good night Natsu." I lightly whispered to myself, as I watched the sleeping dragon slayer.
'Maybe he might not feel that way. But . . . . I think I might.'
