Chapter 8

Cameron's idea made me laugh,  for some reason she makes me feel as if the answer is always simple. I wish it were, but since my life is always on blast for the world I have to be careful about the choices I make.

For our date tonight I decided for something flirty to wear, best way to get back at that pregnant Vixen is to wear something that would totally outdo her. I feel evil waiting for her stomach to get even bigger. She was one of those pregnant women where it really showed in her face a lot. But at the same time she managed to make everything look so easy with her perfect hair.

The perfect shade of red lipstick and with smoky eye makeup that made my green eyes pop. The dress was a fitted black laced  thigh high allure dress. My red peep toe pumps clicked along the stairway  as I walked down to the sight of everyone standing at the end as if this were some type of prom scene in a movie.

"I really can't believe you're not hitting that," Niko said letting out a smooth whistle. Cameron reaches over to hit his head and smiled at me.

I laughed as Michael stood speechless. "This dress better not be a waste Cameron," I say cautiously.

"If it does I'm just going to have to quit," Cameron says a confident smile on her face. She started handing me my clutch and a card for a restaurant. "You two should stay at least for a good two hours."

I started to freak out as I heard that. "Two hours what are we suppose to do for two hours," I say worried as I glance over at Michael.

"It needs to look like you guys lost track of time, real couples take longer," she advised fluffing up pieces of my hair. "You really couldn't have gotten something with more cleavage?" she asked looking me up and down again.

"This is fine, " Michael chimed in. He was completely adorable in his Armani suit, he did really good for a not-so business look he was going for.

"Let's just go. Text me the address." I told Cameron grabbing a hold of Michael's hand and headed straight to the elevator.

It was a weird nerves feeling being alone with Michael but I'd rather have this feeling than have Niko crack anymore jokes at either of our expense. The elevator ride even felt like it was taking forever as we both stood silently not even looking at each other or so I thought.

I took one look at the mirrored ceiling, and I saw Michael staring straight at me. At least I knew this dress was eye catching, it was simple but the plunging neckline was pretty hard to ignore.  "They look great huh?" I asked trying to lighten the mood a little.

Michael's eyes widened as he looked up at me, "You look enchanting in that dress is all." He quickly looked away.

I tilted my head, this guy was being weird. Was this how he was with Grace?  I wanted to make this less awkward and figured I should lighten things up. "Thanks, I'm supposed to remember. You'd look pretty silly in this dress."

Michael smiled as I said this and the elevator dinged open. We walked out and the silence, sadly continued as we got in the car.
                                                                  ---ooo---ooo---ooo---

When Michael pulled up in front of  the blue building with white words saying Ruthann I knew it would be good. We gave the keys to the valet and walked in. I admired the portraits in the room as I handed the card to the front desk,  this was probably one of Cameron's contacts who could set up places in secret for famous people.

Our seat was in a room at  the very back near wide windows. Our table was set with two candles that lit up the  romantic dark red and black room. If this were on a beach it'd look like one of those marriage proposal places. As we took our seats and looked through our menus I waited.
