Chapter 6

The guy in all of them was Michael, what was I going to say about that. They had clearly cropped out Cameron in some of them and the biggest one of all was the one of me with his jacket draped over half of my head and both of our fingers lovingly intertwined as we made our way to his car.

"So Lux, who is this mystery blonde hunk of yours," Jane says obviously pleased that she caught me off guard.

I was speechless, if she had made me continue there would have been no stopping me from doing something I'd regret. Maybe the world was working in my favor because after that someone had called out commercial break. I had all but walked calmly to my dressing room, Cameron and Michael hot on my tale.

"What the hell was that?" Michael asked beating me to it. I looked around in disbelief. I really wanted to destroy something anything of Jane's, like she's been doing with my reputation. I found it hard to believe that Jane was liked, she was talking crap about me just last month and now she has me on as if we're friends.

Cameron looked between us. "A miracle in disguise," she replied slumping down in her chair. Michael and I stared at her in confusion.

"The plan was for Leo, how does this help us?" I asked trying my best not to somehow offend Michael.

"I called Leo. The idiot got in a motorcycle accident and is in the hospital as we speak. We've just got to change the plans around a little bit..."

"Cameron!" I yelled in exasperation.

"Lux, think about it how many times have actresses married their director husbands and other hot actors and then for the rest of their career everyone feels like they owe it to them. Like they would have been nothing without eachother. Do you really want to gain your career that way?" she asked once again making me feel like an idiot for not being able to think on my feet as fast as she could.

"No of course not," I reply my voice small, and slightly annoyed. If there was anything I hated it was being a cliche.

"Then tell that Pierce girl you're dating Michael." she replied simply.

"Do I get no say in this," Michael suddenly says, I jumped a little, I had completely forgotten he was even here. I couldn't read his expression as he turned away from me, looking at Cameron only.

"No!" Cameron says opening the door and walking out. "Figure something out you two have three minutes." she yelled from the opposite side of the door.

I couldn't even look Michael in the face this was too embarrassing and so outright stupid, but at the same time if this was the only way to fix it then I needed to do it. I wringed my hands in front of me and looked up. He watched me and I stopped wringing my hands laying them flat against my baby blue dress.

"I'm sorry, Cameron's one of the youngest so she's just used to getting her own way." he immediately apologized.

I think he just said that because he had nothing else to say. I wanted to say something but there were no words I could think that could make this better.

"I know, she's the only girl, of course you guys spoiled her."

I held in the frustration as the clock ticked away. This was too awkward, could I really go through with this, with Michael. For some reason everywhere we go there's this tension, but I'm an actress I've been through worse.

"Fine, I'm up for this, we met at one of Cameron's barbeques and hit it off I guess?" he seemed a bit weird about it but at the same time I felt the fact that he was very sure of himself when it came to the outcome.
