Chapter 7
The two weeks following the Pierce Show interview was nothing but good results. My new dating life even overshadowed Jason's pregnant girlfriend. Apparently falling for your best friend's brother was close to a fairy tale, as far as anyone has heard lately. I have to admit it was more romantic than falling for a model in your music video. Cameron had yet to clear the swarming reporters and paparazzi at my place so I was indeed still camped out in her guest room. Which was now covered in scripts and flowers from an array of indie movie directors.
I was glowing now more than ever. Everyone assumed it was because of my new sweetheart but I was just so happy to be getting more casting calls. Better rolls we're rolling in and Cameron came by my room dropping off at least two really great ones out of ten scripts. The only problem with the rolls I was trying out for now was that they were all supporting rolls, which I had no qualms against but I wanted the lead for a few of them.
I knew I had the potential to be the strong leading lady. I've only ever had one and that was in "Rain In December" which was now known for the dramatic scene at the movie premiere more than the actually movie. I had to admit the most romantic scenes felt flat but I've been getting better. At my interview I acted pristine.
The doorbell began ringing and continued nonstop as I stood up to answer what ever impatient jerk was on the other side. I opened the door already glaring at the person. But as he came in sight I smiled. Before I said anything he was grabbing me in a bear hug.
"Lux, I'm so hurt you would choose Michael over me," he says playfully.
"Niko you're squishing me," I breathed out and he finally let me go walking straight into the house.
"Nonsense, Lux you broke my heart choosing that old stiff lawyer before choosing an outright good time like me." he replied looking around the place heading straight for the kitchen.
I laughed at his comment closing the door behind him. He was already searching through the fridge grabbing a beer at 11 in the morning.
"I didn't know you were back yet, how was Vegas?" I asked. That's how famous I wanted to be, famous enough to be flown to a different state to do what I loved. I'd barely just made it to coachella for Rain In December which had only been for a day and a half of shooting and we'd gotten the two scenes we needed from there.
"It was amazing considering, there were women everywhere. Literally everywhere they crawled into bed with me and everything." he smiled looking a little too happy reminiscing about it.
I couldn't help laughing as I made my way back in the living room and to my pile of scripts. I didn't like that he was a playboy but he was just so likeable. I always felt sorry for his- I'm guessing now ex girlfriend for the hundredth time Shannon. They were pretty hot and heavy when they actually were together but when they weren't boy did he get around and always in so much trouble.
"Where's Cameron?" he asked, crushing the beer can in his hands and throwing it into the waste basket.
"She's doing her job..." I told him hastily, she was rarely ever at home on a regular basis and now it's baseball season so now she is literally gone all the time either working or visiting Daniel. It was a good thing she was gone, if Niko came in here talking about his conquests in Vegas she would have his head. See Cameron adored Shannon so much she would castrate her little brother.
"So you're here all alone?" he asked plopping down right next to me on the couch. "You should pay me some attention love?" he turned on a fake british accent as he wrapped an arm around me.
