××××× Cora's POV ×××××
Seth and Tim have always been my friends. I can’t remember the time when we weren't because we all grew up in the same orphanage. Since the first time we met, we were inseparable as if we’re related by blood.
We’ve always been together through thick and thin. Despite all our differences we never drifted apart even when we were adopted by different families.
Because of our strong unbreakable friendship I knew I can trust them with any secret I own.
Well were all grown up now and are developing to adulthood so it was a bit difficult opening up to them because their boys but I still told them everything, like this worrisome dream I just had about being on fire.
"It felt so real guys. It was like our house was really on fire." I told my two boys best friends as we reach our lockers in the hallway of Clemente high school in Westchester.
"My mom said that dreams are just a product of our imagination. I had a dream once about getting eaten by a cake, I swear it felt real... but you know it really wasn't." Seth said seriously.
I surpassed a giggle, I love Seth really even when he's annoying and childish. Seth's funny, enthusiastic, and talented in sports. He can be dumb sometimes though. But all in all I like him.
"You should just ignore it" he added as he struggled in opening the door of his locker.
"You shouldn't... according one of the books I read, dreaming is a process of refreshing one’s memories.” Tim mentioned confidently. There goes his trivia of the day. He’s smart one among us three so he usually talks like a nerd.
Like Seth, I love Tim just the same. He’s straightforward, calm and intelligent. I can talk to him about everything. He is always sure of himself and always watches out for others though he acts as if he doesn't care.
"There you go again smart guy. Can’t you at least agree with me even once.'' Seth asked pouting his lips like a little kid.
"That will only happen when you start talking with sense and we all know that even when pigs fly, it wont transpire." Tim replied, tucking his books under his arm.
As I listen to my two best friends argue, I opened my own locker and began taking out my notebooks
I looked at myself in the small mirror attached to the door of my locker. I stared at the reflection of my dark chocolate colored eyes and tied my curly black hair in one high ponytail on the back of my head. My biological parents are Spanish and I’m pretty sure I got my features from them even though I can’t remember them anymore.
Just like my locker I'm plain and simple. I don't wear any accessory, don't like bright colored clothes, don't wear lipsticks and don't gossip about boys. Today I’m wearing a blue t-shirt with a yellow smiley face and a plain pare of cobalt jeans. As always I’m wearing my favorite white sneakers in school.
"Settle down boys. I think it’s time to go to class before the bell rings." I stated, shutting my locker close.
Like Seth and Tim, I’m 15 now but unlike them I didn’t change a lot. I’m tall for a girl being 5 ft 3, but I’m still shorter than Tim whose 5 ft 5 and Seth whose 5 ft 9. Seth is the hunky blond ace player of the basketball team while Tim is the smartest and most good looking Asian hunk in school.
You could say that my two best friends are like black and white. While Seth has white Irish skin, Tim has Asian tan one. Seth's eyes are dark gray while Tim owns a pair of pitch black eyes.
The reason they are both fit and bulk is because the three of us were usually the center of bullying in elementary. We promised that we won’t let that happen in high school so we trained in martial arts.
