"Analise!" squealed Maive and sprinted at me as I walked through the school with her arms out wide, gesturing for a hug. Layla stops and watches Maive run at me, she smiles and blows me a kiss but keeps walking towards the gym hall.
Maive is one of my best friends and so is Layla but after what happened with Ellica she has put a bit of a wedge between us. Ellica was closer to me, we were stuck like glue together with Maive and she's the girl that I found after dance that night by the big oak tree. Layla is still a loved one of mine but we just aren't as close as we used to be, though that won't stop me from risking my life for hers.
I have known them all ever since primary school (first grade) and have always been at least an arm length from eachother.
We told one another everything but now I'm having trouble talking to Maive and Layla about poor Ellica and at some times I can barely say anything to them.
She believed that Ellica wasn't dead, just like me, but I'm more curious than her and Layla tried to have nothing to do with it at all.
I take every bit of action to note in my mind, for example yesterday at school I noticed that Sam (a boy in my P.E class) was wearing new socks.
Back to Ellica, I believe that someone has kidnapped her and is now threatening me and maybe even others.
But everyone is too petrified to say much about their thoughts which is making it almost impossible to find out if anyone has seen anything.
I have this gut feeling that something is trying to tell me something or get to me, which is the exact reason I'm checking that tree at lunch.
"Hey Maive," I plaster a convincing smile over my tight mouth and non-hesitantly walk into her arms, allowing her to hug me though I keep my hands glued onto the thin shoulder straps from my school bag.
Nothing much is said as we slowly travel to our lockers.
"Everything alright? You seem a bit odd and down, maybe confused?" Maive asked in a concerned voice but I had a feeling that she was scared of what I was going to say.
"Yeh, don't worry bout' it. Imma bit tired that's all I guess. But um at lunch if ya don't mind I'm gonna erm... Head down to that park because I think I might have dropped my phone on the way back from dance last night," I nervously spoke and played with the now tearing hem on my school plaid skirt.
Maive nodded silently.
