"No way! (Y/N)?"
"Hiro? What are you doing here?"
The words just came out of your mouths at the exact same time as you stared at each other in shock. Snowflakes kept floating through the air and landing in your hair, but you didn't care right now.
"I thought you had things to do at the Cafe?" you asked, an eyebrow raised as you got up.
"Uh huh. I did. And I thought you were shopping with your mom?" Hiro demanded as he got onto his feet as well. "What are you doing alone?"
"Huh? I..." At this point you were at a complete loss for words, shaking your head. "I, uh...I was just heading home! Early! Cause, uh, I have stuff to do! And my mom said it was totally okay!" you said in a false bright voice, smiling innocently at the end in hopes that the excuse passed off.
But Hiro shook his head. "Then can I see what is in that shopping bag?"
"NO!" You quickly hid the bag behind your back. "It's, uh, it's a surprise!"
Hiro raised an eyebrow. "Really. And who is it for?"
"Uh..."
Before you could say anything, Megabot fell out of Hiro's pocket and into the snow. Noticing this, Hiro quickly picked it up and hid it in his coat pocket, but he was just a second too slow. Your eyes narrowed at the hand he hid in his pocket, where you knew his bot hid.
"What was that you hid in your pocket?" you asked him now, suddenly suspicious.
"I won't tell you until you tell me what is in that bag!" Hiro demanded.
"NO!" you screamed.
"Then I won't tell you!" Hiro retorted back, crossing his arms, which unfortunately caused Megabot to drop onto the snow again.
"You already have," you said offhandedly, picking up Megabot in your hands and staring at it incredulously. "Are you serious, Hiro? You are 16 years of age, and you still BOT FIGHT? Don't you know it's illegal?! You could have gotten arrested!"
"Well, for your information, (Y/N), I have NOT been arrested for the last--I don't know--"
"Oh? So is that to say you've been bot fighting for MORE than one night?"
Now Hiro was completely screwed for an answer. His secret was out. "Listen, (Y/N), bot fighting itself isn't illegal--"
"I don't need to hear the rest of it," you seethed, gritting your teeth, not even knowing that your 'shopping bag' had dropped to reveal the tutu that Mr. E wanted you to wear for the Nutcracker production. The undeniable sparkle and shine of the outfit made Hiro narrow his eyes now.
"And what do we have here?" he asked softly, walking past you to pick up the tutu, uncovering it completely and holding it to the street light. "Seriously, (Y/N)? A tutu? You better explain why."
Great. Now your own secret was out. For years, you didn't want to tell anyone about your obsession with ballet. Typically, if people are to love ballet, they would probably be younger girls who loved showing off with a pretty tutu and dancing gracefully for their parents as if that was the sole purpose of looking good and taking up the art in the first place. But it was different for you. It became your passion, your secret, and to say you still loved to do ballet would sound childish.
"Well..." you stammered, shuffling your feet in confusion as you tried to come up with a good explanation. "Well...um..."
"You didn't buy this, didn't you," Hiro demanded, thrusting the tutu onto the ground, and you gaped at him in horror as you shoved it back in the bag.
