I hear shouting downstairs and it rouses me out of sleep.
He's the first thing on my mind.
Last night was the best night of my life. I've never been with someone so wonderful. He's so attractive and kind and caring.
Fuck, I'm so hooked on him.
I run my hands across my face and try to listen to what everyone is shouting for.
The shouting is loud.
What the hell?
I sit up slightly, trying to listen.
Eve!
My name.
They're screaming my name.
I sigh and throw the covers off of me. I'm wearing a blue hoodie and black sweats.
I look like shit, but whatever, it's just family.
I slam my door open. It hits the wall. I throw my hair up in a bun and storm down the stairs.
"Stop yelling!" I say.
"We were trying to wake you up." Mom says.
I look at the clock.
It's nine in the morning.
"It's like the middle of the night." I sigh.
"Well you have company." Mom says.
My eyes widen and I look down at myself.
Fuck!
"Mom, I look like I just got ran over by a fucking bus. Go see what he wants!"
"No." she says. "He asked for you."
I sigh loudly and turn around and sprint upstairs.
I rush tio the bathroom and brush my teeth and let my hair down and brush it and change into black snowflake pajama pants and a white tank top with a beige pushup bra on.
I look acceptable enough to get the door.
I go downstairs.
My family is dead silent, watching in anticipation as I go open the door.
He stands there, waiting patiently.
I step outside and shut the front door.
"Hi." He says.
"Hi." I say, confused.
He hands me his jacket.
"You don't-"
"You're in a tank top, baby."
Baby.
Dammit.
I'm melting.
I take a deep breath.
"I know it's early, and I'm sorry. I also know it's the day before Christmas Eve, and I'm sorrty for that. I know you probably have a lot to do today, but..." he takes a deep breath. "You left this in my car." He hands me my phone. "And I was wondering if you maybe wanted to add my number to it."
I smile, "Yeah, sure."
I go to contacts and let him add himself.
He hands my phone back to me.
"Well, there you go." He says.
"Thank you." I say quietly.
He takes a deep breath.
