You know what else ticks me off? MTV, or "Music Television", as they would like to be called. I mean, really? I can understand that  it would be called Music Television back in the 80's, (which I like to consider MTV's Golden Ages) but it was called that because it PLAYED MUSIC! That's right kiddies, MTV used to play music. It was a place you could go to if you wanted to listen to the newest and best music videos out there. And what was the first song played? The Buggles's masterpiece "Video Killed the Radio Star". See? MTV producers were actually clever back in the day!  Now what do you find? A bunch of undereducated, underclassed, and overappreciated "reality stars" who are rewarded for cursing, excessive drinking, fighting, and other basic things that children are taught not to do in everyday life, if not Kindergarden. That is why I have renamed MTV from "Music Television" to "More Televised Vulgarity", seeing as that is all you'll really find on MTV nowadays.

Let's talk about Jersey Shore for a while. Namely, why are people actually hooked on this sad excuse for a show? I mean, back when I was taking Biology, there were at least 7 out of 24 people who were obsessed over the show. Now, I'm a firm believer that you should be allowed to watch whatever you enjoy - even if it is degrading mindnumbing crap - but I also beleive that you should keep it to yourself if nobody else wants to talk about it. Barely a day went by that I didn't hear something "new" about that show, as if anything ever changes. "Hey, do you want to hear about who slutA fucked after slutB got drunk and fought with her?" NO I DON'T! Seriously, turn the channel and watch some History Channel if you're really so hooked on television. Hell, you can watch Comedy Central if you want, it probably has more educational value than MTV. Or, you could do your brain a favor and pick up a book.

Now,  don't think that I hate Jersey Shore just because it has no plot and revolves around drinking, fighting, and having sex.Well, actually, that IS mostly why I hate it so much. I also hate it because of how it influences the people who watch it (I might have included this under the TV section under the previous section, but hey too late now). Remember those 7 people who watched it that I told you about? Well, if there are 7 people in one classroom, imagine how many kids watch it in the entire school. And then the entire city. Well I've noticed that the people who would openly talk about Jersey shore were the same people who would get into fights incredibly often and trash talk others for no reason. Of course, they were also some pretty big sluts, but I can vaguely remember them being that way before the show. Now, I think that if they didn't idolize those people who did the previously mentioned fighting, fucking, and drinking, they wouldn't think it was cool and wouldn't do it anymore.

You know, I wouldn't mind it too much if MTV actually proved itself capable of its namesake. I mean, do you know the ONE TIME I ever saw any actual music on MTV in my lifetime? When I was getting ready to drive to school in the morning. More specifically at SIX OCLOCK IN THE MORNING (yeah, I get up really early). I mean, is that  how they prove themselves able to be called Music Television? Or is that simply how they're able to sleep at night? Because really, if you're going to show gangsta rap at the time where only kindergardeners are up to hear it, why would you even do it? You might as well do like other networks do and either show reruns of shows that nobody wanted to watch or sell out and show infomercials from 2:00 in the morning to 7:00 in the morning. I mean, hey, it's not like you uphold MTV's former standards, so you might as well sell off the rest of your dignity right? Or do you really get your kicks off teaching kindergardeners all kinds of fun new words to use in class?

And that, kiddies, is the end of this rant, I hope you either enjoyed it or hated it and want to call me out, because chances are that reflects whether or not you actually watch More Televised Vulgarity during your free time.
