Lost- Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Chapter 5

I start to tear up talking about my family and how we destroyed ourselves. But Millard still didn't know my name. I didn't formally ever introduce myself so I said "Eve my name is Eve". He nods then turns away thinking of another question to ask. I tell him I have to go find Emma and walk away. I never really talk about myself and I was so suprised that I didn't break down talking about my parents.  I find Emma and she takes me inside. She wants to talk to me. Emma has been very kind and we have gotten closer over the past couple weeks. She tells me that Miss Peregrine didn't mean any of what she said. I couldn't truly believe her. Miss Peregrine hasn't shown me any kindness or affection since I found the loop. I feel like an outsider, and that I slow everyone down from their "daily" routines and lives. Emma reassures me. I just nod.
