Marie stumbled into the kitchen after a few minuets and told us to get back to bed. We both nodded and headed back to Dalton's room. I plopped down on the bed and stretched out my arms. "I'm not tired. Are you?"
"Nope, I'm still asleep."
"What are you talking about?" He looked at me crookedly. "You're not asleep."
"Yes, I am. There are no such things as vampires. My mind is trying to make sense of what my other dream was like." He rolled his eyes at me and sat down.
"Ready?"
"Ready for..." I couldn't finish my sentence. He pinched my arm and twisted it. "Ouch! What the hell!"
"Now do you believe me?"
"Okay, yes, just don't do that again."
"Fine, but you should get some sleep. You look exhausted." He was right. I was exhausted and I needed some sleep. I noticed that the dark circles under his eyes were gone. They've been gone since he drunk his drink. I don't want to call it blood. I want there to still be a chance this is a dream that I can wake up from. I slid my body under the blankets and closed my eyes. I must've fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow because I didn't remember anything after that. I opened my eyes to the brightest light ever. "God! Did you put the sun on stun!" I yelled then heard a soft chuckle.
"Nope, you're just facing an open window." Dalton laughed. My eyes adjusted and I saw him standing at the edge of his closet. "Do you need clothes or do you want to wear mine for the rest of the day?"
"Clothes." He threw some shorts and a tank top at me then I realized. "Where did you get these?" They were my clothes.
"From your house."
"How did you know where I lived?"
"On your résumé."
"Fine, them how did you get in?"
"I kicked down your door." He said it so casually.
"What!"
"I also grabbed your phone. I'll leave so you can change." He threw the small phone at me and walked out of the door. I quickly pulled on the clothing and found his brush. "Do you mind if I use your brush?" I yelled through the door.
"Only if I can come in." I opened the door and walked back over to the dresser. I ran the brush through my hair until all of the knots were gone. "Now, I'm going to the hospital. You can come or you can just stay here." He said.
"Why are you going there?"
"Food. What else?" He jumped out the open window. I rushed over to make sure he was okay. He was swatting on the ground. When he looked up his eyes were red, but they washed out to the ice blue. "Are you coming? I'll catch you."
"Are you insane? I'm not jumping out a two story window."
"Please, I promise I won't drop you."
"I don't trust you."
"That really hurts." The next thing I knew he was sitting on the window seal. He scared me and I fell backwards. "Come on. I don't want to go alone."
"Can't we just walk out the front door?"
"No, I'm not suppose to go on blood runs, but I'm tired of the AB blood." I set my jaw and tapped my foot. After a few moments of him looking at me with pleading eyes I gave in. "Fine, but I'm not jumping out alone."
"Fine." He picked me up bridal style and jumped. I put my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming. His feet hit the ground and I jumped from his arms. I hit his arm. "Are you trying to kill me?"
"Not yet. Follow me." He walked into a large bush. I quickly ran after him. Once I made it through the leaves I saw a beautiful red mustang. He cranked he car up and opened the passenger side for me to get in. I slid into the car and he backed up to the road. "Why don't you burst into flames?" I asked him.
"I'm a lamia. Don't burn in sunlight. Holy water and crucifixes don't work on me either."
"What about a wooden stake?"
"Why? Are you planning to kill me?"
"No, I'm just curious."
"Yes, wooden stakes work, but you would die too if I shoved a block of wood into your chest."
"Is that the only thing that kills you?"
"Pretty much." I nodded and the rest of the drive there was quiet. He parked the car and we walked in. He entered a room alone. It was a few minuets. "He shouldn't take this long." I said to myself. What's going on.
