Hope

Sams pov.

  I woke up to shouting outside my shack, I roll out of my bed and silently unsheathe my blade from under my pillow. I quickly make my way to the front door and crouch under the broken window, I lift my head and see a crowd of people, armed and ready, but they weren't peace keepers. Shit. I sneak to the back of the shack and climb through the window, I keep low and make my way around the small building and press my self to its side careful not to let the intruders see me. Over head a chopper flys in and lands near the small crowd, they walk towards the landing sight and away from me, I follow behind keeping my distance. The door opened and a another small group came out, I made my way closer, hiding within one of the demolished buildings. The last one to come out, a girl, I recdndnized her but didn't know where I've seen her, she looked devastated, as if she's never seen district 12 like this before. I know her, I know that can help. I walk out into the open, arms up and blade away. I make my self known "are you...katniss everdeen?" Every one turns to me every one except the girl turned their weapons on me. "I don't mean any harm, I've been living in the wreckage and I need help. I'm not working with the capital." My statement seemed to calm most of the intruders, the girl steps forward "who are you, how did you service the attacks?" I take a second and take a breath, l"my name is Sam, Sam Corey. I lived in district 12 before the attacks, I was hunting, beyond the fence when the Capitol attacked." She turned to one of the armed and whispered something, he then turned to me and made his way over to me. "Do you have any belongings to take with you?" He states, I nod and tell him to follow me to my shack, I open the door and pack up what I needed. The last thing I picked up was the diary. I held it right to my body, and told the man I was ready. "Where are we going any way" the man kept walking but answered "district 13"
