Beep! Beep! Beep!

I automatically smashed the off button on my annoying alarm. Another day of absolute boredom and exhaustion. Urgh the struggles.

I lay there on my bed, dreading to get up and deal with everything in the day.

I let out a long sigh. You really have to get up now. Yeah I know, but the bed is so nice and warm. Get your lazy ass out of the bed. Another sigh.

I reluctantly got out of my bed and put on my school clothes. I looked at the time, 6:50am. School starts at 8:45 but I like to be there by 8:20. To talk to friends and what not.

You have friends? Yeah I know right, soo surprising.

I stared into my mirror. My blue eyes had dark bags under them and my black hair was a total mess. Another day of this shit. I wished life would be just that little bit easier. That would be nice.

I trudged around the house to find some clean towels, finally I found some and got into the shower. After about 5 minutes I got out of the shower again. The daily routine. So boring! You get used to it I guess.

Walking down the stairs was a pain in the butt. Literally, I bruised it when I fell down some stairs a couple days earlier. Yeah life sucks.

I eventually made it to the kitchen where I found my mother making a cup of tea.

"Good morning," I greeted her.

"Morning," She replied.

"Want some?" She offered

"Nah I'm all good, thanks,"

I sat down on one of the bar stools at our kitchen bench.

"Breakfast would be nice though," I said smiling.

"You can make your own damn breakfast, you lazy bugger,"

"I was joking," I laughed.

She came around the kitchen bench with her arms wide open.

"I won't be able to continue the day without a hug from you,"

"Sure sure," I smiled.

I got out of the chair and I embraced her.

"I'm not letting you go," she announced.

"Mum I really have to get ready for school,"

"Nope,"

"Your so annoying,"

"You love it,"

"I do not,"

Rustles of clothes sliding past each other. My mother looked in me the eyes.

"Don't do anything stupid at school, okay?"

"I won't,"

I turned and started to slowly walk up the stairs again. I got my bag ready and put my heavy black leather shoes on. Part of the stupid uniform code. Leather shoes, like come on. They are literally an oven for your feet.

I walked downstairs again and went into the kitchen. I got out a bowl and the cereal. The bar stool screeched as I pulled it out from under the kitchen bench. I sat down heavily and started to eat.

Fifteen minutes later I got up and put my dirty bowl in the dishwasher.

I got school things together and headed for the front door. After wriggling the broken door open, I stepped out onto the veranda.

"I'm going now," I called out.

My mother came to the door and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I walked down the small set of stairs and onto the overgrown pathway.

"Okay bye," I said.

"Be safe,"

"I will." I opened to rusty gate with a loud creak. She worries too much.

"And don't get another one of those bloody detentions!"
