I drove home, from Bri's house, because I assumed that they need time to talk, since their parent were home. I felt weird, during the drive home, I don't know why but I felt like I was being followed. Maybe it was just me I don't know.

I opened the door, the house was quiet, no one was home. I walked to the kitchen to get a cup of water, and I saw a sticky note on the fridge, it read

Lye, your father, brother and I have gone to LA for the day, sorry to leave like this but it was urgent, we need stuff for the company.
Will be back tomorrow in the the afternoon, love you xx - Mom

"Okay, great. " I thought. "Some time for myself ." I went upstairs, and turned on some music. I sat on my bed thinking of what I should do. "I should really clean up a little" I thought. "Ugghhh, but I'm lazy." I laid back on my bed, but then finally decided to get up. I started picking up the clothes that I had on the ground and made two piles, clean, and dirty. "I'll just throw these in the washer, right now." Before I knew it I had spent most of my day cleaning my room. I looked at the time, it read 5:47 pm. "I'm kinda hungry" I thought. At that moment I got a message from my friend, Jade.

From: Jade
Hey, you busy?

To: Jade
No, just finished cleaning my room. What's up?

From: Jade
Wanna go get some dinner, I'm hungry and I don't wanna go alone, my mom's not coming home till the weekend. If you're too busy, I understand, or if you already ate.

To: Jade
No, no you actually got me a perfect time, parents aren't home, and I haven't eaten either, where should we go?

From: Jade
Pizza? 😛

To: Jade
😏 I'll be there in a bit.

From: Jade
I'll pick you up, don't worry about it. 😊

To: Jade
Okay, then 😄

I decided to change my shirt, and grab a jacket. I heard her car drive up, and I ran out the house, locking the door behind me.

"Hey" I said opening the car door. "Hey, lye" she said smiling. "How you been?" I asked. "Great, I'm excited for graduation." She said. " Ohh I know OMG" I said. "I can't believe it, time flys" I said. "Right?" She said. We drove to a near by pizza place.

"One medium pepperoni and two drinks please" Jade said to the tall man behind the counter. "Will that be all for you?" He asked. "You want anything else? Jade asked turning to see me. "No, I'm fine" "okay that's it." She replied to the man. "That'd be $15.43." He said. We both gave half the money, so we wouldn't owe each other anything.

"So how you been?" Jade asked me, sitting down. "I've been great, a little tired, but great! What about you?" I asked. "I've been pretty good, I've been packing all week, I'm moving in to my apartment right after graduation." She said. "Yay, lucky you, I'm so happy for you." I said. "Thanks, girl" she said. "Aren't you a little scared to live on your own, being so young?" I asked. "Not at all, I can't stand my parents fighting anymore, I can't wait to get out of there." She said. "They still haven't gotten divorced?" I asked. "No, not till a couple more months, then my mom's moving in with me, that's why I'm not so scared." "Oh, that's good" I said.

"Here you are" a voice from behind me said. It was the man that took our order." "Thank you" we both said. He nodded, smiled and said "enjoy" before walking away.

"Ugh no, not again" Jade said, looking at her phone. "What's wrong" I asked. "I gotta babysit my brother tomorrow again, great" "He's not that bad" I said laughing. "Try taking care of him, for a whole day" she said laughing, "you won't think the same, at the end of the day." I laughed.

Before we left, I decided to go to the restroom, I didn't think I could hold it, till I got home. "I'll be right back" I said, standing up. "I'm gonna go use the restroom, wanna come?" I asked. "Nah I'll wait here." She said smiling. "Okay, be right back." I said walking away.

I opened the door, to exit the restroom and I bumped into Michael. "Oh sorry" I said trying not to make eye contact." "Oh gosh, not him" I thought.

"There's nothing to be sorry about babe, it's been a while, hasn't it." "Get out of my way, I said looking down, and pushing him slightly. "Why so grumpy, huh lye, don't you love me?" He pushed me up against the restroom door and pulled me in close, kissing my neck, softly.

"Let go of me Michael" I said angrily, pushing him away. I started to walk away ." Oh baby girl, don't act like you don't miss me." He said grabbing my wrist and pulling me back. "Leave me alone Michael, I said in low angry tone. "Fine, see you soon Layla, he said with a chuckle. I speed walked all the way back and luckily, Jade was ready to go. "Ready?" She asked. "Yeah." I said nervously, looking back to see if I could see Michael. He was gone. "Is everything o.k?" She asked. "You look scared." "No, no I'm fine, lets just go." I said grabbing my bag and heading out.
