Chapter 12
This. Is. Boring. Usually, when we go camping its crazy. Kind of like a college party times ten. Let's just say its wild. But, right now it's just...boring. And, I think I know why.
We're all sitting on logs around a fire that the guys, and Ronnie made. Roasting hot dogs. The tents were already set-up and the sun was setting. It was quiet and all you could hear was the pop from the wood burning in the fire. Let me repeat my earlier statement,
This. Is. Boring.
Ronnie and Ian kept giving each other secret glances. But, I'm sure everyone knows about them now. Jonah keeps looking over at me, but I avoid his stare at all cost. Liam just looks confused. Dylan keeps typing on his phone. Matthew looked like he was thinking and Peyton looked as confused as Liam.
Well, this is fun.
"Is it just me, or is this the most boring camping trip ever?" Peyton suddenly asked. Everyone started mumbling their agreements. Liam groaned and threw his now burnt hot dog in the fire.
"Are we seriously sitting here roasting hot dogs right now?" Liam asked. I nodded and he groaned again, "I don't know what's happening right now. But, this is so not us. Last year the cops had to escort us out of the camping grounds for disturbing the town ten miles away. Now, I'm afraid we're gonna get escorted for being too boring." I nodded my head In agreement.
"You know what would be fun?" Matthew suddenly asked, getting out of his thinking zone. Ian smirked over at me,
"Throwing Chris in the lake again?" I glared at him and he raised his arms in surrender. Matthew shook his head no, and gave Ian a disapproving glance. Then he suddenly got up and walked over to the Liam's car. We watched him open the front door and cut on the engine. Is he leaving us? How is that fun?
Suddenly Olly Murs's 'Troublemaker' started blaring in the car. Everyone smiled as Matthew came back with a few cans of beers. He tossed them at the guys and tossed Ronnie and I one.
"Let's make this into a party. And, have a good time. Being away from parents and school. And, just have fun." I frowned at the can of beer. Im not one to drink. Drinking is just...stupid. And, it tastes horrible. And, beer is just the worst. Peyton noticed my face expression and took my can of beer and set it on the ground.
Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me up. "Let's Dance." I laughed as he started doing these weird dance moves that only he would do. I joined him doing the most stupidest (If that's a word) dance moves that I could think of. Soon, everyone joined in. And, everyone was having fun.
Ronnie danced over to me. Peyton went to go get a beer. She smirked at me, "Jonah can't take his eyes off of you." I blushed and looked over at Jonah to see that he was sitting by the came fire, staring at me.
I looked at Ronnie, "Why is he just sitting by himself?" Ronnie shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe you should go over there and ask him to dance." I immediately shook my head no but Ronnie already pushed me over to him. I frowned at her, but she just sent me a smirk.
I walked over to Jonah and sat next to him. He turned to me and smiled, "You finally finished dancing with Peyton and decided to join me." I smiled when I heard the jealousy in his voice. I didn't comment on it though.
"Why are you just sitting here by yourself?" He shrugged and stared at the fire,
"Maybe I'm not in the dancing mood." I frowned and stood up. Jonah raised an eyebrow at me. I held out my hand for him. He just stared at my hand for a second before he grabbed it. I pulled him up, and dragged him to our fake dance floor. Suddenly the song changed into a slow one.
