A moment later the gate opened and he drove it. The drive wasn't all that long and he could see the large house as he approached it. Once he was there he found there were several people outside and one directed him to a parking spot. Gael parked the Bronco and once he had turned the engine off he climbed out. "I need to get my daughter." His voice was low and quiet as he spoke. Before anyone could say anything he opened the back door and pulled Bridget out of her seat. Gael settled her in the sling he had before grabbing her diaper bag and closing the door.

When he spoke the warriors all looked somewhat startled. It was so very rare for a lone wolf to have a child unless he or she had a mate. The senior warrior sniffed in his direction and could sense the abiding sadness and was forced to shake his head. *I think he lost his mate recently. Give him some room. I don't sense any threat from him currently. Do keep a close eye on him.* Once the other wolf had gathered the child he jerked his head in the direction of the house. "Follow me and I will take you to the Alpha." *Alpha the lone wolf has a baby with him and smells of loss and sadness. If you deem it so maybe have the Luna there?*

The Alpha had received the communication but since the Luna was already in the office he didn't bother replying. "Hun it seems we might have a lone wolf who lost a mate. He has a child with him as well. Now I am curious as to why he became a lone wolf or when." It wasn't unheard of for a lone wolf to have a mate or children but in many cases when they did they joined a pack. It gave safety and security to the wolf and his family.

She looked over at her mate and wondered if he was right and if so what had happened. For a wolf to leave a pack with a child was almost vanishingly rare. It was something she had never heard of before. "Well let me go and get some drinks ready for us." She moved over to a coffee pot and poured a pot and added several cups to the tray as well as some meat snacks. Once she was done there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Called the Alpha and the door was opened. He looked at the wolf being escorted in and he was a strong looking wolf. Based on his presence he was a younger wolf but if in a pack would be a mid-level wolf. As he was looking at him he could see the tired looking eyes and an attempt to look like nothing was wrong. "Come in and please have a seat. My mate has some coffee and snacks if you would like." The baby was obviously asleep though the Alpha had a feeling she was going to wake up soon.

Gael came into the office and ignored the warriors who stood nearby. It was to be expected when a strange wolf was with the Alpha of the pack. "Thank you sir." Gael met his eyes and then looked away. "Some coffee would be appreciated Ma'am." He didn't even bother trying to smile at the Luna. He didn't have the energy at the moment to do more than be polite. When she handed him a large cup he took it and then turned to the Alpha. "Sir I am here to request permission for me and my daughter remain in your territory for a few months. I have been hired on at the Lazy J ranch as a ranch hand." Even now even though he tried to show some emotions it wasn't possible.

The Alpha and Luna traded a few brief mental comments before the Alpha spoke. "Before we get to that where are you coming from and why are you a lone wolf? I don't mind allowing you to remain as long as I feel comfortable that you are not a threat. That means that I need to know about you and where you come from." This was definitely a hurt wolf and there was a story there.

Gael wanted to sigh or twitch but he forced his body as best as possible not to react. He glanced back at the Alpha's eyes before looking slightly away again. "Sir I am lone wolf because my mate died in a car accident. I couldn't stay with my pack because everything kept reminding me of her. We were mated for ten years and..." He had to look down at his daughter. His jaw was clenched as he tried to contain his and his wolf's emotions.
