FROM YESTERDAY

CHAPTER 1

The sun shines in my eye's forcing me to open them. It's shining in from a crack in the wall by my head. I fell asleep in the barn after tending to the horses last night, and was too tired to walk back to my room. A twenty minute walk over three seconds. No contest. If only this place wasn't so big. I would be happy to live in just a small shack instead of this place. But I can't really complain. I have so much more here than I would anywhere else.

I lay in the hay of the stables thinking of how nice it would be to stay here. I know that isn't possible as I have duties. Then I suddenly get excited as I remembered that I get to leave the palace today. I've been picked to go fetch the oldest princesses future husband. The prince of Taiwan. It's small but a marriage between two kingdoms is necessary.

The emperor of Taiwan has already married his two daughter's to the two princes of china. The two youngest princesses of Hainan have already been promised to the Emperor of China's nephew's. They are still too young, so it will be a couple of years till they are ready to marry. So to marry the eldest princess to the prince of Taiwan will prevent any conflicts that may occur in the future. As Taiwan and China already have a firm alliance.

I brush off the hay and walk around the back of the palace. I know that the Emperor would not approve of my state, and even more upset if he found out that I didn't sleep in my bed last night. To be sleeping out in the open like that without a chaperone present would leave me vulnerable. An unmarried lady must not leave herself so exposed. He is very protective of me. Even though I am not one of his offspring he still sees me as part of his family.

I made it to my room without anyone seeing me. So I thought. As I started to wash the dirt off my face I noticed someone standing in the doorway.

Me" You know, it's not nice to spy on people. Especially if they are bathing. Mia". I said to the eldest princess as I kept washing myself.

Mi" I don't see what my father sees in you. You are nothing but a peasant, and you act like one too"

Me" I am a soldier of this kingdom. I act like a soldier, but with class". I say with a slight smile. Knowing that her comment not making me upset would make her blood boil.

Mi" He only gave you a place in his army so he could keep a close eye on you. You are the offspring of an enemy. You could turn at any moment"

Me" Yeah, that's why my father's body was placed in a sacred place on the cliff over looking the palace". I said with sarcasm.

All I heard is her grunt, then foot steps walking away from my room. I look in the mirror before I get dressed and see what she does. A no body completely surrounded by beauty. One of these day's she will actually get to me, but not today. Today I am a giant with no fear.

This is my first mission that I'm in charge of. Yes I am just fetching a person to bring back here, but that person is a prince. A very important person that could be used to bring a kingdom down. We need this alliance to keep our kingdom protected. To keep our friendship with China.

Half of the palace still sleeps when I leave. I am alone with no chaperone. Something that I thought the emperor would never approve of. I convinced him that it would be too obvious to travel with a large group. I will dress in peasant clothing and so will the prince and his guards. To make him feel more comfortable with the idea I said that I will dress as a man.

I practiced speaking with a deep voice, just incase I needed to speak to anyone on my travels. It still sounded girly but good enough. The only issue I had was strapping my breasts down. It hurt as they are large. They still stuck out a bit so I needed to give myself a belly and wrap my head more so no one could see my thin face. I had to keep telling myself on the way that it wasn't for long. I will be dressing back into female clothes once I've reached them. Just a couple of day's of pain.
