{Wade}
Laurel walked into the coffee shop with a sigh and slowly dragged herself up to the counter.
"Hi," she puffed out her order, and with a smile she payed and walked off to find a seat.
As she sat down Laurel propped her elbows up on the table and ran her hands through her hair. Laurel thought maybe if she closed her eyes she could try and maybe, just maybe, she'd stop thinking about this huge mess that all started when she ran to the football field and turned into a monster that hunts on the full moon, and it only took a bite. So, Laurel closed her eyes and tried to think of happy things, but there weren't any. All she could think about was when Wade left. Her best friend since childhood left, just like her other friend did, and it's rare that an eleven year old gets a choice, so when Tommy accepted that offer.... Things change, but she didn't think that meant losing everyone she loved.
"Lahey?" A familiar voice broke her from her depressing thoughts and she looked up, first at her coffee that was no longer steaming, then at the short, messy haired, thick eyebrowed teenage boy in front of her.
"Wade?" He smiled,
"Wade, what are you doing here?" She asked,
"You sound kind of angry..." He looked down awkwardly.
"You can't be here. I have every right to be angry with you for skipping town without notifying anybody and not talking to anyone in Beacon Hills for about a year now... But I made amends with that a little bit ago, and right now, arguing with you is at the very bottom of my shit list."
"Then tell me what you're mad about, Laurel. And don't you dare try and sugar coat it because I hear things, and I have been here longer than you might think. So tell me because I want to hear you say it,"
"I don't want you to get hurt because I don't want to lose you again. You may have dropped the 'I like you' bomb, but there was no reason to leave."
"I never left! Never!"
"Then why did you hide?"
"The alpha pack is why I hid!"
"How did you-" she stopped mid sentence when his eyes turned a glowing red then back to the normal brown.
"When?"
"The night before I told you I liked you, I wanted to let you know just in case."
"So you know that I'm supposed to become... A leader of sorts?"
"Of course I know. And I also know what will happen if you reject it."
"What will happen?"
"Only some are strong enough to reject it, and the reason he knows there's a threat of you being able to is because you made yourself an alpha. It didn't just happen, Laurel, it was all you. And if you reject it you lose Stiles, Isaac, everyone you love the most, but thats only what he'd make his little alpha pack do. And compared to what would happen without his addition makes him look like a sweet little kid."
"What are you saying, Wade?"
"I'm saying the only way to get out of becoming a nightmare without the loss is to leave. And leave soon."
"Won't he kill them if I leave?"
"He can't kill them if you... Leave." He sniffed and looked back up at her, crying.
"Are you saying what I think your saying?"
"I love you Laurel. That's why I'm telling you to run fast and run far. I know where you need to go, and you'll find someone that'll help if you simply ask. But you have to do it."
"Wh-Where do I have to go?" She asked through tears.
"A small city along the beach, far, far away from here." He reached across the table and grabbed her hands in his,
"Go to Laguna, you will have a place to stay, I promise." She stood up and gave him a long hug,
"I love you, Shortie. Tell them what you told me, and only tell them where I am a while after I've been there. I promise to leave each of you a note... And tell Stiles I'm sorry about not being able to keep this, but it would make this deed a bit easier."
She put something into his hand and after closing it she gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking out the door.
Wade opened up his hand and when he stared at the promise ring in his palm multiple tears fell into his hand.
