Days later, after the pack had settled in, they came. My mother gave birth to three pups. The largest, a big grey male, was clearly the pup-Alpha. The second, a pretty silver and red pup. The smallest, a tiny female with a red face and white body, in my opinion was the cutest. The other she-wolf had pups a day later, only two. The female pup had a twisted paw, and I worried for her. Both looked like little copies of their mother. The male pup, was tiny, and i feared he wouldn't make it through the night.
He did, obviously having the stubbornness of his mother.

I took my chance of hunting, being that no one else was able to. I took the two yearlings with me, since the males were busy guarding the den. A herd of deer were grazing, almost begging to be hunted. They stood unaware, their young in the center. A few bucks were getting closer and closer to our tree line. The yearlings spread out glancing at me for the signal.

With a flick of my ears we shot off. Targeting a lone buck, we started to herd to the outskirts of the meadow. The yearlings were nipping at its flank, distracting it while I went for its throat. It stumbled after I bit the bloodline. It came crashing down, giving up.

The yearlings backed off, letting me deliver the killing blow. After it died we howled, telling our pack we were bringing food back. The yearlings waited for me to eat, which I didn't. I let them eat, my alpha instincts kicking in, making sure I ate after everyone else did. The two grabbed a leg, and I helped drag it back to the den.
Back at the den, we drug the leg into the den as far as we were allowed. About mid-way into the den, we were greeted by savage growls telling us to get out. Scrambling out, I watched as the rest of the pack left for the kill.

I say outside the den, listening for danger, guarding it with my life. A twig snapped behind me. Turning around, I spied two things. They were carrying sticks. Walking upright on two legs, creeping around. Almost silently running downhill they were headed for the herd. A loud boom echoed throughout the Forrest, followed by a pitiful yip.
