Chapter 9: Watching Eyes

Okay, so the earl is too obvious. Never mind that, you were bored at the manor, so you went to the castle for permission to do a job.

"Okay, as long as you go undercover." added Ash. You looked around to see Victoria on her bed, her skin starting to rot more. You walked to the known queen and sat beside her. "Your highness, do you think not to see a doctor? Your skin is getting worse." you watched her as she slowly hugged her body. "No. No need for that. I shall keep his body as mine, forever and ever."

You saw Ash's face getting annoyed. You stood up and walked out the door, Ash followed you out.

"I shall visit you in the Phantomhive manor, don't look for a job on your own. I'll find one that'll be compatible with you."

You nodded like you were some kind of servant following orders. You asked Ash to say goodbye to Victoria for you and walked out the palace.

As you were walking to the gate, you recognized a certain carriage out the open. You breathed deeply and walked faster to meet them.

"Milady? What shall be our next stop?" The butler asked slightly bowing your direction. You looked at the earl through the window, you knew he didn't want to leave you alone after that little ACCIDENT.

As he noticed you looking at him, he stared at you with his usual expressionless face.

You smiled at him and walked to face the butler once more. "Sebastian, this is where we go our separate ways."

You smiled at the now surprised butler. "[Y/N], are you really parting with us?"

You could hear the hiding emotions behind the butler's words, and to think that everybody kept telling you that he was an emotionless creature who smiles at other's pain, he looks quite disappointed for you.

"How about your things at the manor? Don't you want to come back first?" he asked gesturing you to the carriage, you stopped to think for a while, deciding to let Ash call you out when your Mission has been selected. You happily nodded to the butler, making him smile a bit, small enough for anybody to notice. He opened the door for you, and as you climbed, you noticed the earl looking out the window in quite a deep thought. You didn't want to tell him.

You arrived at the Phantomhive manor, seeing the faces that you'll miss, you waved their direction.

You looked at them with a slightly downed smile, confusing the five.

You waited until the earl came out of the carriage walking high to the doorstep ignoring you guys.

As he entered the doors with the butler closing it from behind, you faced his servants once more.

"I'm leaving."

Four pairs of wide eyes looked at you disappointedly, "Did the young master decide this!?" asked Mei-rin, her cracked glasses lowering a bit. You shook your head making them more confused.

"I've been on hiatus for quite a long time, and I'm kinda itching to get some work done and-"

You were cut off by an obviously disappointed finny about to tackle you for a huge hug, his friends shocked about to stop him.

Everything was on slo-mo for you. Your heart beat getting heavier as the boy was about to hug you. And you know what happens when he hug stuff.

Especially when times that he just feel like being a hugger.

They break.

Without him noticing.

In a split second.

As in.... Crack....

Your eyes grew wide as his arms were about to wrap around you, nervous as ever, images of blood splatters flashed in your mind making you more nervous.

But, things stopped.

You five, including the dog, were more than surprised when the boy suddenly stopped halfway.

"I...... I can hurt you if I go on..... Right......?" his eyes filled with sadness at they started tearing up.

You felt bad for the boy, so did the others. The fact that nobody can think of the last time he was able to wrap his arms around anybody that's human made you feel bad.

You snaked your arms around his neck, feeling quite emotional at the moment. "Its up to you if you'll hurt me. But there's one thing I assure you. If its from the heart, it'll be something you'll never regret."

You looked at the others getting nervous about what you just said, so you smiled.

You knew what you were doing.

You felt finny slowly lift his arms to your waist level, and the gap slowly getting smaller and smaller. You closed your eyes , scared of what might happen, until you felt his arms stopped.

"[Y/N]? You can open your eyes now." the boy said.

So you did.

And so did the others.

All the nervousness in your body disappeared and was replaced by shock.

You didn't die.

Everyone was so proud, even Finny. He removed his hands from your waist and looked at you with an adorable smile.

You smiled back, wiping the beads of tears in his eyes. "What did I tell you? Something you'll never regret." you pointed to the boy's heart making him chuckle.

"Wow Finny! For a second there, you sounded mature!" commented Bard.

Finny laughed scratching his head then stopped, looking at you with a confused face.

You asked him what was wrong.

"How come you didn't break? I tried that before on a tree. And............" he hugged a nearby tree just like how he did to you, in a split second, it broke in to pieces.

"See?"

Then he walked your direction, doing the same, but with different results. "Why is that?" he asked.

You kissed his cheek making him blush. "Because you love me." you answered with a smile.

Finny, going back to his childish ways, "But I love plants too! Just like the trees!!"

"Maybe its just because you don't love them enough." you replied with a deep scary voice in a creepy daring tone sending chills to everybody's spine. "I'm just kidding." you added with the same voice but now with a tiny hint of joy, making you all laugh.

You looked at the window where Ciel's study was. You knew they were watching.

You looked at the earl as he watched you and the others with a serious look. As your eyes met, he removed his eye patch and said something and then faced Sebastian. As usual, the butler bowed, his hand by his chest.

Why is he even being loyal to that boy?

Whatever it is, you tried reading his lips, but the distance was too much and you weren't using tools like binoculars or whatnots.

All you were able to read was

'I command you to keep [Y/N] within watch.'
