Chapter 22

After Mint left with Laura, I was left pretending that I was sad, depressed, devastated of the fact that my ‘husband’ left with my sister-fuck-in-law. The only thing I’m devastated about until today is the reality that few months have passed but I’m not still done with making all their lives miserable.

“Hija, are you ready to go?” a knock on my room door made me came back to reality.

I’m at the Paredes’ mansion. They say I have to be in here, so whatever.

“Coming.” I said.

I fix my stuffs and hop in the limousine.

We were on our way to the hospital. And I heard Clark Sr. talking to someone on the phone.

“We’re on our way, Frank. Just don’t let him out of your sight.” He ordered someone.

After a couple of minutes, we reached the hospital.

Went straight in the Paredes’ room. Where he’s lying there still unconscious.

Clark.

“Wala daw bang improvement sabi ng doktor?” Dina asked Frank.

“Wala daw po, madam. Pero ginagawa naman daw po nila lahat.”

“Well it’s not enough! They should try harder!”  Dina shouted.

The day Laura and Mint left, Clark had a heart attack. A major one. And then after a few hours, the doctors declared him in coma. He’s been here for two months but still with no signs of life. Just what I wanted.

“M-mom, calm down. I’m sure they’re doing their best. You just have to believe.” I said. As if I’m really affected, which I’m not.

The head doctor in-charge of Clark is the same doctor I hired to tell them lies about my disease. So I am fucking sure that Clark is as good as dead now.

“I- I just can’t imagine losing your brother.” She said.

But you fucking afford to lose your daughter six years ago!

“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” I said.

“Mahanap ko lang talaga yung dalawang yun. Hindi ko sila mapapatawad.” Clark Sr. said

“D-dad, I thought we discussed about this already, let them go. I’m sure k-kuya would say the same. He wants everyone to be happy even if it causes him being miserable. It just takes time, but I’m sure we’ll all recover from this mistake. Just please d-dad, don’t find them.” I said. I almost talk like Angela. Which is totally gross!

“But just because you asked for it. If the day comes that you want to change your mind, just tell me.” He said.

I just smiled.

We stayed there just asking doctors any improvements which is impossible. And after a few hours, we decided to go.

“I’ll pass dinner tonight, I have to see Chin.” I said while on the way to their mansion.

“Okay. We’ll just drop you there and then just call us if you’re ready to go.” Clark Sr.

“Uhm, d-dad. I was planning to stay for the night with her. Just to loosen things that’s been bothering me. You know, just to have fun.” I said.

“Just be careful. You’re sick.” He said.

“I will. Thanks.” And then I hopped out of the car.

I pressed the doorbell in the mansion in front of me. It’s the Zeng’s. Almost as big as the Paredes’ but more quiet.

“State your name.” a voice from the doorbell box talked.
