(Unni are you sure you’re not going?) said Chin from the other line.

“I would love to, but my doctor told me to rest.” I said. Lie.

(Sayang naman, gusto mo ba, puntahan na lang kita jan, hindi na rin ako pupunta.) She offered.

I don’t want to be with you! Stop being my tail! I thought. But I just told her, “No, doctor said I can’t accept visitors. You go! Have fun, fix things with Max. Goodnight.” I hung up.

I toss the phone at my bed and continued what I was doing. Getting dressed.

I told that childish Chin that I’m not going at that stupid reunion. But the truth is I just don’t want to go with her and I would like to make an entrance. Myself.

I’m wearing a white see-through gown with diamonds everywhere and a diamond-glass shoes. And just ponytailed my hair back.

It’s 7:00 PM. Exactly the start of the reunion. And I’m just on my way.

Chin texted me.

Text message: They’re all here, unni.

Perfect!

I called Mina.

(Diamond!!)  he exclaims.

“Shut up. Where’s Life?” I asked.

(Sleeping. It’s almost eight. Why?)

“Is there something wrong checking out my daughter?” I said.

(Of course not, Diamond. Ikaw talaga. Pero si Timmy kaaalis lang.) he said.

Timmy? Gone? This time?

“Where to?”

(Sabi niya lang sa party.)

“Stupid guy. Gotta go, bye.”

I hung up because I reached the MSH’s parking.

I parked my car next to a black BMW which almost looks like Timmy’s.

I examined the place. Nothing’s change. Same boring school with fucked up memories to bury deep down the hell.

I gave my dress one last fix.

I am now standing in front of the ball room’s door which from there I can see everyone inside. I saw a big long table in front.

Seated there are the Royalties which haven’t changed at all. I saw Chin beside Max and a girl is beside Max which looks like a tadpole because of her thin body but big tummy. That must be the other woman Chin was talking about.

And then there’s him. At the middle of the long table.

His hair dyed golden blonde, his face’s features more prominent than what used to be not. His body shaped more than ever. And his smile. Everything changed. Except for that smile. That smile which not everyone has the opportunity to witness. But other than that, everything’s changed.

But there’s one thing that will never change. The fact that I hate him. I hated him. I hate him. And I will hate him until my very last breath.

I touched my face. Get myself together and entered the glass door.

Everyone was sitting because the bartender/school newspaper guy is busy talking nonsense about this reunion.

So automatically, I caught everyone’s attention. Each person in the hall is now looking at me. Especially him. And the girl seated on his right side. Both of them looked pretty perplexed with what their seeing at this very moment.
