I breathe in a deep breath and open my eyes. Kelsey’s smiling down at me, but I can see her hands shaking.

I pretend not to notice, or tell her that I heard what she did. I’ll need to find a cure before it hurts badly.

“Why am I here? I want to go home.” I wheeze trying to get up, Kelsey tries to get me to lay back down.

“Get me out of here before I walk home and don’t you dare tell Hansen to come here.” I hiss as my feet touch the floor. My legs are shaky and unstable but I get to the toilet. I see Kelsey nod before she runs out of the room.

I lock the door behind me and collapse. I get the phone out that I took off Kelsey before I left. I dial the number I thought I wouldn’t ever ring. The phone doesn’t even ring before someone answers.

“You rang. A little bit late but I’ll forgive yah babe.” The deep voice on the other side says.

“I need your help.”

Chapter 9: Borrowed time.

I walk out of the door to see that no one here. I grab my things and Kelsey’s. When I get into the hall way I see Kelsey waving her arms around while talking to who I presume is my Doctor. The Doctor was middle aged with a bit of gray in his black hair. He had crow’s feet and laugh lines on his face. He was handsome for a middle age guy.

“SHE WANTS TO LEAVE! CAN’T YOU TRY TO STOP HER?” Kelsey screams.

“No he can’t, let’s go, I want to see Hansen.” I say dropping her bag next to her feet. I walk towards the door not caring if Kelsey’s following or not.

Home;

We were parked in the drive way. I don’t turn towards her but look at the house. My home;

“Kelsey. I love you, no matter what I’ll love you. You are my best friend and my sister. Don’t cry too hard for me. Some tears are okay but not a lot…Promise me, do as I wish.” I look at Kelsey. She has tears I her eyes. I know that she’s upset about my talk of dying. I look at her until she nods, promising not to bring me back. I smile and get out, facing the future that I’m meant to endure a little bit more longer.

It’s been 3 days since I blacked out at the pool, and a day since Kelsey brought me back to life. Yes that is what the idiot did. She brought me back to life. I know I should be great full but I know that it’s taking years off her life, even though she’s a witch; she ages slowly, just like the shifters. But I can see her hands shake every now and then, I see a bit of gray in her hair and I also see that I’m getting better...stronger. I think the cure is a trade. Her life for mine but I won’t let her do that for me. Sweet as it is, I won’t let my friend die instead of me. God wanted me to die early, who am I to stop what he wants? Grandpa came back a few days ago with the pack doctors, he soon gave up trying to cure my cancer since every time they tried something I had a seizure or I just blacked out. He now is staying by my side as much as he can. I’m working hard on my list and I have actually changed it slightly since I looked over it and I thought they were a bit stupid and I found out that Wes, Jason, Justyn and all that know about it… well about the old one that is.
