Chapter 6: out in the open and a new begining

Okay readers, I may need to clear something's up for yah but Danielle will not be turning into a wolf, the genes has skipped her like it did her father but the wolf genes DID get passed onto Josh who you already know is a wolf and his friends are other shifters... sorry if it confused the heck out of you ....

RECAP;

Flashback;

"Papa?" a little girl wearing a yellow and blue sunflower dress asks she's only 4. She has her hair in pig tails, and chocolate ice cream all over her face.

"Yes honey?" A man in his mid 30's asks looking down at the small girl before him,

"Will I be a doggy when I grow up?" she asks her round grey almost white eyes looking up at him in adoration.

"I'm sorry honey but no, but papa will look after you no matter what okay?" The man says scooping the little girl into his arms. The little girls giggles and nods, settling her head on the man's shoulder, her eyes starting to close.

"I love you papa." They little girl whispers before falling asleep.

"I love you Danni girl," the man whispers back to the now sleeping girl.

Flashback over;

"We won't hurt them if you wish my granddaughter," I stare at him my head tilting to the side.

"Papa?" I ask wide eyed.

"Yes Danielle, I haven't seen you since you were a baby, come give papa a hug before I get hurt," he smiles and I run up to him, as I hug him I smell his mucky man smell.

His scent triggered the memory.

Chapter 6;

"I've missed you papa," I mumble into his shirt. Remembering the memory I forgot. I forgot I had a grandfather because after that he never came back and visited, I now remember asking mum and dad when papa would come but they would never tell me after a while I stopped then altogether I forgot.

"I missed you too Danni girl, I really did," papa mumbles into my hair.

"Then why didn't you come back?" I whisper pulling back to see his face, he has a small smile on his wrinkled face; he looks old, tired and sad.

"I did, just when you couldn't see me and where I could watch you from a far," then something passes through his eyes, I could see his wolf Orion staring back at me.

"Can I see him again?" I whisper, papa nods and leads me towards the forest next to the house. The guys don't follow just watch from inside the house.

When we're at the edge of the back yard he shifts into his wolf form. Grandpa was a silvery colored wolf who had about grey eyes that looked blind, they looked like mine, he was at least up to my shoulders when I stood but I was on my knees looking into his wolfs eyes, I could tell papa had let his wolf Orion control his body. Papa's wolf, Orion, sniffed me and starting to whimper like he was hurting, Orion puts his mouth on my shoulder whimpering after a while Orion shifts back letting papa's (human) form come back.

When he's done shifting back (he already had clothes on when he shifted) "Something's not right Danni girl, what is it?" He asks, worry all over his features.

"Papa, what did Orion smell??" I ask

"Sickness, disease..." he says looking me in the eye, I tear up.

Breathing in and out I tell him.

"That's because I'm sick... I have cancer papa, and I only have a few months left..." I whisper my eyes still locked with his, I can see his eyes cloud over. Not only him but Orion too are grieving.
