Christine dragged her feet across the wooden floor, dressed in her pyjamas. The floor squeaked against her weight as she walked. She dragged her feet whilst walking towards her mirror. Her hair was a mess, most of her blonde hair covered her face and rested on her shoulders.
She removed her blonde hair out of her emerald green eyes. She tilted her head back, making all the hair drop backwards. If Stew would see me now, he'd probably dump me, she thought jokingly.
She grabbed her comb. After a couple of strokes down, her hair didn't show any trace of being combed. She looked at herself in the mirror before throwing the comb to the side and picking up a bigger one.
She still tried forcing her hair to behave. She moved across the room whilst combing. Her hair finally obeyed her, after wasting an unknown amount of time in the mirror. Tincup was pumping into her ears now, she listened to that and Skrux N Bone N Skin, Skrillex and Diplo. Dubstep was her life.
"Hi mom," she said as she paced down the stairs.
"Hello honey," her mother said as she gave Chris a kiss on the forehead.
She hummed a song as she walked past her; she had been in a good mood since last night and Chris had noticed it.
"Humming? Mom, are you seeing someone?"
Her mother laughed, "Is that the only reason you think I'd be happy?"
"Well, what is it?" Chris asked looking at her mother.
"Well dear," she says as she grabs her arms, "my contract has been made permanent. I won't have to look for another job after 3 months."
Chris lunged herself at her mother giving her a hug, "Congratulations mom, you deserve it."
"Something else I need to tell you," her mother said.
Julia looked at her daughter eye-to-eye, "I also got transferred," she said.
"What do you mean?"
"We have to move to Crimson."
"Mom does that mean I'm changing schools as well?" She asked, Christine was never worried, ever so calm. Now worry was all over her face.
"Yes hun, might as well tell your friends that you'll be leaving them soon. We have to move before the month ends."
Christine ran her hand through her hair. She then pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'm happy for your mom, I'll tell them I'm moving," she told her voice as low as a whisper.
She walked up the stairs to her room, her heart broken. She would have to say goodbye to Stew, she would have to leave it all behind. Her life, her friends, and everything important to her.
She opened the windowtoldof her room; she stepped out to sit on her roof. She watched her busy neighbourhood as she cleared her mind. In a few days, she would have to say goodbye to it all.
