It was late at night when we all got back to Beacon. I was carrying Ruby on my back, Weiss was walking in front of us, and Blake was walking next to me. Ruby was asleep, and snoring softly in my ear. I too was beginning to feel sleepy, and could feel my eyelids drooping. Weiss opened the door to our room and yawned. "I'm going to sleep, good night girls," she whispered.

Blake fell asleep on her top bunk as I tucked Ruby in. It reminded me of the days when me and Ruby were kids, and Dad would tuck us in every night. But that was after the days my mom disappeared...

I shake away the memory. No use clinging to the past.

"Yang, you should get some sleep too..." Blake murmurs sleepily. "you look tired." I laugh softly. "You too." I get into my bottom bunk, still wearing my day clothes. I'm seriously too tired to change into some PJs.

"Goodnight, Yang."
I yawn, "Goodnight, Blake,"

~Morning~
"Yang?! Yang wake up!!" Yells Ruby. She shakes me awake. I bolt upright, "Hwaaah?! What?! What happened?" Ruby, Blake, and Weiss are all standing above me. Their all fully clothed in their school uniforms, and even have their books. Then I realize it---

"We're late for class, aren't we?" I ask rhetorically. Weiss turns her nose up, "Obviously! Now hurry up before we get in some serious trouble!" I hurry and change into my uniform, and bump into Blake on my way out, causing both our books to tumble out of our arms.

"Crud, sorry about that, Blake. You okay?" I ask, helping her up. She brushes off her skirt and fixes her bow. "U-um yeah, thanks. Let's hurry and...go." She runs away from me, holding her books to her chest. Wait, wait, wait! Was she blushing?!?!

I'm almost certain she couldn't have been blushing, but at the same time I hope she was. She ran away like she was embarrassed by something. Well, no time to dwell on that thought. We're already super late to Mr. Oobleck's class and I was NOT in the mood to hear him speed talk a lecture about being on time.

I brush off my skirt too and rush to the class.

"--but before the Faunus Rights Movement there was an enormous amount of Faunus in hiding, due to being subjugated to prejudice and discrimination by the humans who disliked the Faunus race. Any questions?"

One boy raised his hand. It's funny how quick Oobleck was to ignore him. "No questions? Very good! Please study pages 123, 145, 229, 210, 167 and 220 as homework and I'd like a 3 page essay on them by next Monday. That is all!"

I'm almost asleep by the time the class is over. I couldn't help but notice how Blake was so engaged in this lesson. But I'm sure, almost certain, that she had to go through some of that herself. The thought of it fills me with anger and sadness that people could've hated her race just because she's part animal. It's stupid.

"Ms. Xiao Long, I certainly hope you listened well enough to the lesson to turn in the paper on time," Mr. Oobleck asks me. He tilts his glasses down so that his green eyes meet mine. "I'd hate to not have yet another assignment not turned in."

I try and keep myself from rolling my eyes. "Of course." I gather up my notes, but immediately shove them into my pockets when I notice I had been subconsciously doodling pictures of Blake. "Oh....."

Just when things can't get any more weird, Sun Wukong shows up. "Hey, Yang, have you seen Blake anywhere?" I hold my tongue and try to hide my venom.

"No, I haven't. Why?" I ask with as little hostility as I can muster. Sun seems oblivious to my sour tone and continues.

"Oh, just because I was going to ask her to the movies on Friday." he explains, running his hand through his hair. It makes me irritated, and I am rarely ever bothered by guys.

"Didn't she already say no?" I ask angrily. "She's going with---" I stop myself before I say Me. "She already said she wasn't going with you right?"
Sun flicks his tail. "I mean, yeah. But I assumed she was just kidding around. Who's she going with?" I swallow hard. I can't believe Blake likes this guy.
"She's going with Me." I inform him. I stop so I can just enjoy his expression. He looks so confused. But his next words slap me in the face.

"Why is she going with you and not me?" he asks, innocently enough that it stings me. "I mean, I was sure we both liked each other." He chuckles. "Nevermind, I see her leaving the class. I'll just ask." He gives me a casual two finger salute, "Later."

Blake's eyes sparkle when she notices Sun coming towards her. A warm blush crosses her cheeks.

Damn that stupid monkey!

I turn around and stop looking at them. Whatever. It's none of my business anyway. But even though I claim to not care, even though I repeat the words whatever over and over in my head, I can't help but turn and look.

And what I see hurts 10 times more than anything.
