My Only Sunshine. (A Hayes Grier Fanfiction)

Chapter 3

After I got that text, I wasn't so sure I wanted to go to school. I was really nervous and scared.

 When my mom got home last night, I told her I wasn't feeling well and I faked a fever and she let me stay home today.

"Brianna, I'm so sorry honey but, I have to go on a business trip. It's last minute and I have to leave in about an hour." My mother said with apologetic eyes.

"Oh, um, okay mom. Where are you headed to?" I questioned.

"I have to go Canada to do some research and, I wont be back for about two weeks." She stated.

 My mom was a Marine Biologist, so she was always going somewhere.

 I fake coughed, "Alright, mom. You should probably start packing, I'm gonna go lay back down." 

"Okay, honey." My mom said, walking upstairs to her room.

 I jogged up to my room and shut the door. I looked at my alarm clock and it read 12:57.

 I sighed and grabbed my phone.

 2 texts from "Hayes Sexy Grier ;)"

H: Where are you? Is something wrong?

H: Bri, are you okay? 

H: I'm being serious. Why aren't you answering me?

 I didn't want to text Hayes back, he's probably in the middle of class right now.

 I knew that private text was from Joe. I didn't want to think about it. The memories haunted my brain. I just wanted to be alone and not think about what happened back in Florida.

 Just then, my mother snapped me out of my train of thought.

"Alright, Brianna. I'm leaving. Call me if you need anything. I left the neighbors number on the fridge, and you know what to do if there's an emergency. I'm gonna have the neighbor come and check on you in about two hours." My mom said walking into my room.

 My mom and I walked downstairs to the front door.

"Bye, mom. I love you! I'll call you later." I said, hugging my mother.

"Okay, Brianna. Love you too! Stay safe." My mother said, shutting the door behind her.

I walked over to the window and waves goodbye to her.

I stumbled up the stairs to my room and turned on the T.V.

 I walked out on to my balcony and breathed in the fresh air. I decided after awhile that I would get in the shower to relax and take my mind off of things. I slid shut my balcony door and locked it and I headed over to my dresser.

 I grabbed my phone and bluetoothed it to my Beats Pill and I played my Pandora station.

 I picked out a towel from the linen closet and and set everything on the counter.

 I turned on the water and let it warm up. I stripped out of my clothes and stepped under the water, sliding the door shut.

 I was in the shower for about 45 minutes when I heard my phone go off.

 I shut the water off and walked out of the shower.

 I wrapped my towel around my body and shut off my speaker. I lifted my phone off the counter and unlocked it.

 It was a text from a private number.

Bri, you and I both know you can't hide from me. I'll see you in Cali. ;)

How does Joe know where I am? I didn't tell him I moved to California. I would never tell him that, not after what he did. 

 I decided that it would be best to just shut my phone off and go make some lunch.

 I was laying in my bed scrolling through instagram when I heard a knock at my front door.

I froze and heard another knock.

 I decided that I should answer the door. It's probably just my neighbor coming over to check on me and see if I'm alright.

 I swiftly ran downstairs and looked through the peephole of my front door.

The person standing there was NOT my neighbor.
