I was laying in my bed scrolling through instagram when I heard a knock at my front door.

I froze and heard another knock.

I decided that I should answer the door. It's probably just my neighbor coming over to check on me and see if I'm alright.

I  dropped my phone on my bed and swiftly ran downstairs.

I looked through the peephole of my front door.

The person standing there was NOT my neighbor.

****

The person standing in front of the door was.... Hayes?

I unlocked the door and opened it.

Hayes looked up at me and relief washed over his face.

"Hayes, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"You weren't at school today and you wouldn't answer my calls or texts. I got worried that something awful happened to you." Hayes said, looking down at me.

"Nope. Nothing happened. Im fine. You can leave now." I said, closing the door, but failing miserably because Hayes put his foot in between the door and the frame.

"May, I?" He asked, pushing the door open.

"I guess." I muttered.

Hayes walked in and looked around.

"You have a nice house. Are your parents home?" He asked, looking around.

"Thanks. My mom left a couple hours ago. She won't be home for about two weeks." I said.

"Oh, okay." He said.

"You can sit down." I replied.

Hayes flopped down on my white leather couch and patted the spot next to him.

He faced me and sat criss cross, putting his hands under his chin and looking up at me.

"Why weren't you at school?" He interrogated.

"I wasn't feeling well." I stated.

"You seem fine to me. What actually happened?" He asked, leaning in.

"I-I-I u-u-m. It's nothing." I said, looking down.

I couldn't tell Hayes about the text messages.  He'd think I'm insane.

"Bri, you can trust me." He said, lifting my chin up.

I looked into his eyes and I knew he meant it.

"Okay. If I tell you, you cannot tell anyone. Alright?" I asked him.

"I promise."

"Okay. One second." I said. I hopped up from the couch and ran upstairs, pulling Hayes with me.

I walked inside my room and grabbed my phone off my bed.

Hayes stood there patiently, looking at me, leaning up against the door frame.

He looked so hot. He was so toned, I bay he had a six pack.

Brianna Elizabeth Gold, you cannot think that right now!

I pulled up the texts from the private number and handed my phone to Hayes.

Hayes read the messages and stared at my phone for awhile.

"Bri, it's probably just a prank." He chuckled.

"It's not a prank, Hayes. This is serious." I whined, getting a little upset.

"Bri, I won't let anyone hurt you. Besides, it's probably just a lower classman loser trying to joke around! You could've come to school today." Hayes said smirking.

"Hayes, I know they're coming for me! What if the break in and kidnap me?" I said stepping closer to him.

"You'll be okay. Nobody is coming to get you. If you're honestly that scared, I can come and check on you once in awhile." He said stepping forward, also.

"Hayes, I'm not five. I can take care of myself. And if you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate it if you exited my house immediately." I said, whispering the last part and looking down.

He lifted my chin up once again and brushes my cheek with the pad of his thumb.

"Make me." He whispered, leaning in.

His hot breath hit my face and our lips brushed sending fireworks throughout my body.

Just then, someone rang the doorbell.

I jumped back and looked down blushing.

"I-I-I should probably g-g-o get that." I said, stuttering.

Hayes just smirked and sat down on my bed.

I ran downstairs and opened the door.

"Hello Brianna. I'm Mrs. Doolie. Your mother asked me to come over and check on you." My neighbor said.

"Oh, yes, Mrs. Doolie. My mom told me you would be coming over. I'm doing better, and please, call me Bri." I said, giving her a fake smile.

" Are you sure, "Bri"? You look a little nauseous." She said pushing me out of the way and. stepping inside.

"I'm fine. Everything's okay." I said, showing her back to the door.

" Okay. Oh, is that young man over still?" She questioned. Trying to step in again and look around the house.

How did she know Hayes was over? She was really snoopy.

"Oh, there are no boys here, Mrs. Doolie. I can assure you that. Have a nice day." I waved.

"But he's right th-" I cut her off by shutting the door.

I looked to the top of the stairs and immediately saw Hayes laughing.

He jogged downstairs in his Vans.

"Bri, I gotta blast. I'll text you later." He said and winked, making my face heat up.

"Okay. Bye." I said pushing his chest away to get him out, when he tried to lean in.

He pretended to be hurt that I kicked him out, which made me giggle.

He tried to lean in again but I shut the door in his face and laughed.
