chapter 5

Melissa POV:

I was up half of the night thinking about what all happened today. Luke practically poured out his feelings and what sucked was I didn't even feel anything for him. I mean he is my best friend, I will still go to him for anything. No doubt about it. I checked my phone and nothing, I set it down and just laid there until i feel asleep.

Luke's POV:

I looked at the time and it was 2 o'clock in the morning. Ever since we came back from laser tag I've been up. Thank God it's Sunday. I thought about it and slammed my body on my bed and groaned cause I realized I have school tomorrow. I looked at my phone and saw I had a text.

Rylie:

'hey. wanna hang out today?'

I looked around realizing I had nothing to do. I replied,

'Heck yeah! What time?' I sent it.

she answered immediately.

'now. if your not busy.'

'Of course not. I'll be headed that way after I change. '

'sounds great!(: ' she replied.

I stood up going to my closet and grabbing a black v-neck with some ripped jeans. I grabbed my white beanie and slipped on my red vans. I grabbed my phone and keys walking out without a word since everyone was asleep. It just hit me, I'm going to Rylie's at 2 in the morning. Something was up.

There wasn't any traffic so i was there within 7 minutes. I ran to her door and she opened it. She was wearing grey sweats, white v-neck, and in black socks and her hair was in a messy bun. Is that what girls call it? Oh, well. No worries. I'm a guy.

"Hey. What's wrong? " I ask as I walked in.

"Nothing. Why?" she laughed.

"1) you texted me at 2 in the morning. 2) usually you sleep in until 12 in the afternoon sleeping by 12. So, something is bothering you. " I say.

"I just can't sleep. " she said.

"Oh, okay. " I say. "Promise? "

"I promise!" she smiled. I hugged her and she hugged back. Letting go she says, "you look like you got dressed in the dark. " she was laughing. I looked at my outfit.

"When do I ever match? " I laugh.

"That is very true! " she sat on the couch.

"What do you want to do? " I asked.

"I have an idea." she smirked and i knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Wal-mart! " she jumped up putting her shoes on and we ran out of the house, got in my car, and she plugged in her phone putting on 'Swap it out' by Justin Bieber. This was our song.

I rolled down the windows and turned it up loud and we started singing, horribly. It was so much fun.

We got to Wal-mart and was in the toy section. I had the cart and was riding it like a scooter with her sitting in it. i stopped at the nerf guns and we made eye contact and i grabbed like 4 of them and then we just was going around looking at random toys. We have the mind of a kid.

Finally, we went to my favorite part of the store. The food section. I threw chips, cookies, popcorn, and a lot of junk food in there. We were just laughing and singing. It was now 4:30 and we started checking out. I payed, she tried but failed. we went out to the car putting everything in it and got in now listening to 'What I Like About You' by i don't even know. This was another one of our songs.
