"Idiot, why didn't you go to the nurse sooner?" Josh grumbled, mostly to himself.

"It's not really a big deal, I just...stood up too fast...or something." Arri didn't sound very convincing, and she definitely didn't look it. She was pale and blotchy all over and couldn't stop shaking, which didn't help the fact that she could hardly hold her eyes open, let alone walk.

"Okay, I can't- just...would you just cooperate! You can barely walk as it is!" Josh had stopped and turned to Arri abruptly, quickly bending down and scooping her legs from under her and picking her up, which she didn't like at all, but she couldn't deny that she was extremely exhausted.

When they finally got to the nurse's office, Josh left to go to his mom's room.

The nurse, a petite lady who looked like she drank too much coffee, went through the motions, and it wasn't until she took the girl's blood pressure that she seemed worried. "Are you anemic?" She asked gently, taking the cuff off of her arm.

Arri tried her best to look at her quizzically, "No, why?"

Just about that time, Josh and Miss Wills came back in. "Well, your blood pressure is extremely low. I would highly recommend going to the hospital to be looked at."

Miss Wills looked down at her watch with a scowl, she still had 3 hours of class left, and with Arri already passing out once, there was no way she was going to allow her to drive. The mom looked up at Josh with a pause. She knew he didn't like driving, but she had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.

"Josh?" She didn't even need to ask the whole question, he already suspected it was coming. With a timid frown, he nodded his head.

"Yeah, I'll take her."

It took about 30 minutes for them to get from the school to the hospital. Not because it was a very far distance, but because Josh was a very cautious driver.

When they walked into the emergency waiting room, it wasn't very busy, and the nice lady behind the desk already had the paperwork ready, mentioning how the nurse had called ahead about them coming.

Josh took the clipboard and went to sit next to his sister, who was sitting with her knees pulled to her chest in a chair. Looking down at the form, a scowl crossed his face. He hated filling out these things, he never knew what to put, and he always had to leave half of the family medical history side blank.

When he got done with all the personal information, he started asking Arri about her symptoms. Pain rating?

"Well, the only thing that really hurts is my head, so maybe a 3?"

Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea?

"Nope."

Dizziness or lightheadedness?

"Both."

Any trouble breathing or swallowing?

"Sometimes it's hard to take a deep breath."

Josh didn't bother asking about the fatigue or tiredness, that was a given. He took the clipboard back up to the nurse and she called Arri into the triage room.

The nurse took her temperature, her blood pressure, and heart beat and asked the usual questions, "Do you smoke? Drink? Drug use? Last menstrual cycle?"

The next step was to hook her up to the EKG and get readout. The lady gave out no information or concerns, just wrote on her little chart. After all was said and done, they walked Arri back to a room to wait for the doctor. Josh appeared not long after, having stepped out to call their mom and let her know that they had been brought back to a room.
