Jasper and Edward were walking through the woods, a good distance away from the family home. "You're sure no one else was around? No one that could have stopped it some how?" Edward asked, his eyebrows knitting together in thought.

Jasper shook his head, his amber eyes on the ground in front of them, "I went around the entire area after if happened. There hadn't been any other person, vampire, or animal around. It was just her around."

They both walked in silence, keeping a slow pace. Jasper went over the whole ordeal in his head, making sure to not leave out a single detail, knowing Edward was watching.

"I don't know, Jas. Whatever happened, though, it's something we should keep an eye on." The honey haired boy just nodded, turning and following his adopted brother back to their home.

Arri wasn't sure what she wanted to do with the rest of her day. She didn't feel like sleeping, and she didn't want to be cooped up in the house all day, and other than Bella, who was undoubtedly with Edward somewhere would definitely not want to hang out right now.

Frowning to herself, she drummed her fingers on her steering wheel. She wasn't really dressed for going anywhere, in her old sweatpant pajama bottoms and a comfy tank top, but going home to change also sounded displeasing.

She had driven around Forks, but maybe she could find somewhere interesting to go in the small town. Surely there was something hidden in the little town that she could preoccupy herself with that didn't involve going into the woods and almost getting eaten alive by a mountain cat.

With that settled, Arri mozied around the downtown area, looking for any interesting shops or stands. A small bookstore caught her eye. It was tucked away behind a bank, with just a little sign that simply read "BOOKS". She parked in one of the three parking spaces and headed towards the cozy looking building.

A small bell chimed as the door opened, and the smell of hot coffee gently assaulted her senses, causing her mouth to water at the rich aroma. Shelves of books filled the store, along with CDs, vinyl records, and old posters of classic bands and movies, and had a small counter on the right where the coffee machines were.

Arri was in heaven.

She walked through the rows of books, some newer, but some had the feel of an old, appreciated book. She peeked around the corner of the shelf to see if the owner was behind the counter, but they were still in the back, so she continued her word-filled page adventure through the shelves.

By the time she heard the owner moving around behind the counter, she was already ten pages deep in a book that had peaked her interest. Memorizing her page number, Arri made her way back to the front, where she could just barely see someones back crouched behind the counter, rummaging around, unaware that she was there.

Arri gingerly sat the book on the counter and waited for them to stand back up, but when they didn't, she offered a small "excuse me", in which she was answered by a jump and a loud smack from the man hitting his head on the counter, also startling Arri.

The man stood, mumbling apologies for scaring her, rubbing the sore spot on his head, while Arri was simultaneously apologizing for scaring him.

"No, no, it's fine, I didn't hear you come in, is all." He smiled. He was younger, maybe in his early twenties, with a nicely managed head of long brown hair that curled at the ends and light hazel eyes. The silver haired girl was suddenly very conscious about her lazy attire and could feel a blush rise to her cheeks as she met the almost green eyes, just offering a small smile in return.

"Well, you're a new face. What can I do for you today?" He grinned, readying himself to type something into the cash register.

"Uh, just this," Arri said, gently sliding the books towards him, "and maybe some of that delicious smelling coffee," she added with a grin.

"Sure thing!" The man went to work ringing her up. She handed him the amount, taking the book and waiting patiently as he turned to the coffee machine.

As he went about making her drink, she blushed at her earlier thoughts. He was definitely not what she was expecting when she came in to the shop, and now here she was, greatly appreciating the view she had of him.

When he turned back around with her cup of coffee, Arri quickly averted her eyes to the counter, praying her face wasn't fire engine red. "Alright, here you go. One cup of the store specialty." He grinned, handing her the warm drink.

Arri thanked him, taking a small test sip, melting instantly as the taste of bitter coffee was washed away by the taste of sweet caramel and small hints of white chocolate. "This may be the best thing I have ever tasted," She sighed with content, causing the man to laugh.

"Well, I try. You must be new here, I'm Colt." He offered his hand for a shake, causing Arri to have to do that awkward dance of trying to situate the coffee and book in one hand to be able to shake his.

"I'm Arri, and yeah, my family and I just moved here from California." She said.

"Well, Arri, it was a pleasure to meet you and I hope you stop by again soon. Have a nice day." He smiled.

"You too," Arri replied, walking back out the door and heading back to her car. Now she could physically feel her face burning. When she opened her door, she heard a car pull up next to her.

Setting her coffee in her cupholder, she turned to see Alice Cullen smiling up at her through the open window of her car.
