I will stand by you

I sit in my covers cuddled up with Riley.Doctors have scanned us for injuries and Riley is about to have stitches why Katy is in another room getting treated for head injuries and knife wounds to her body and I have a mild concussion and am in shock so I have to rest and Riley refused to leave me why Katy was sedated and had no choice but to leave.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?" Riley asks softly,his voice huff and vibrates through his chest and his warmth radiates to me and I let in comfort me."Arnold Schwarzenegger taught me everything I know bro" we laugh together although I cannot not stop rethinking last nights events.My brain is mentally scared by the the trauma I am feeling,I never want to feel as scared and helpless as I did.

"Rhiannon,you are my twin sister and I honestly thought that was the last time I was going to see you and I had to tell you that I love you so much and I thank god every day that you are here with us again and that destiny led you to mum and I again" My heart gets a warmth and I lean my chin on his shoulder as we hug."Riley I love you too and i'm so relieved I have a brother" and he chuckles "and i'm so relieved I have a sister".I laugh with my twin "I will stand by you" I tell him with full honesty.

I walk into mums room with a slight limp and see her leaned to the side with her back facing me.Riley is asleep so I have decided to see how she's doing."Mum?" I say softly and she turns her face around giving me a humble smile."Hey kid" she croaks and I walk over and sit on the side of the bed next to her and rolls onto her back and I slide my hand under her arm and then wrap my other arm around it and I then snuggle my face into her shoulder and half my face is hidden by her coconut smelling hair.She reaches her arm over and tickles my hand letting my body relax as our quiet breaths clamber into the quietness of the hospital room.I relish the comfort and nuturing touch of my mother."Hows my boy?" she says quietly "he's sore but he'll live" and mum chuckles.
"What about you sweetie,how are you?" I shrug "I didn't get hurt so its okay" I mumble into her hair and I feel her look at me and I lift my gaze to meet her big blue eyes that hold mine."Baby,you fought him off,who knows what could of happened if you weren't so brave and i'm so proud of you" This makes a fuzzy feeling stir and I feel happy like suddenly my life feels almost perfect and my lifes wounds have healed.
"Go to sleep sweetheart" and I finally give into the heaviness on my eyes and I drop my eye lids just as mum kisses my hair softly.
