Finally, the long-awaited day had come. Since she was a young girl, she imagined her wedding to be this huge and important event, with an endless list of guests and the love of her life standing at the altar waiting for her. Well, it didn't quite happen that way... It was still going to be important, but to her, and not the rest of the world, which was what mattered the most. And she might not be marrying the man she thought she would for as long as she could remember, but she wasn't in any way sad or disappointed, or looking back and hesitating.
It's better this way, Stevie told herself, sitting at the vanity in her bedroom, having everything laid out before her, which she would need to get herself ready. She believed that if she had married Lindsey, it wouldn't have been pretty. They always said how different they were, but they're more alike than anything, which would usually get them into arguments about nothing and they wouldn't talk. If things had gone that way, they wouldn't have been able to share what they did the night before, Fleetwood Mac would have long been over and they would have crossed out each other from their contact lists by now. All in all, this was the best ending for them they could ever ask for.
Glancing at the clock on the wall, Stevie saw she had several hours ahead of her, which was good. She didn't want to rush anything. She had already taken a shower and laid her gown on the bed for later. Taking a deep breath, she looked at the makeup in front of her, thinking that as soon as she takes something - it all becomes official; she would be getting ready for her wedding. A small smile crossed her lips at the thought, so she didn't hesitate and picked up her primer.
Once she applied her makeup, she moved onto her hair, letting it loose from the rollers she has put in earlier, her long locks having turned into gorgeous waves. She took a strand on each side and clipped them together at the back of her head, with a rose shaped hairpin.
Moving on to her dress, Stevie ran a hand over the material; every smallest thing making the reality sink in. It wasn't what she would usually wear, but it was beautiful, with little details that would still relate to her. Like she wanted, the dress was ivory, long, with a hint of a train and lace sleeves, exposing her shoulders.
Dressed up, she walked to pick out the jewelry, choosing a diamond necklace, that was close around her neck, complementary earrings and a bracelet. Lastly, she stepped into beige colored stilettos and sprayed her favorite perfume on, as she then took one last look at herself.
It was nearing the time of when she had to leave, a car waiting for her outside, which she had asked Karen to organize. Right before walking through the door, she took her very elegant small bouquet of white roses.
The drive didn't take very long, Stevie getting more nervous with each passing minute. But it was the good kind of nervous, she was excited to finally become someone's wife. Not just someone's, Chad was a lot more than that to her. She could truly say he had changed her life. After meeting him, she was a lot happier, which allowed her to see everything in a different light. Suddenly, she din't want to waste her time away sleeping half the day anymore, she wasn't getting as stressed out about things, she was much more patient with people. Overall, she had become a better version of herself.
When the car stopped, there were no second thoughts, as she stepped out as soon as the driver opened the door for her. If anything, she couldn't wait to see her husband to be at last.
They had decided on a beautiful garden, which they saw driving by it one day. A gazebo that was there caught her eye and she knew. Since she didn't want any onlookers, she had to be generous, so the area would be made private for the ceremony.
She smiled widely the second her eyes settled on him, as he mirrored her expression. Dressed in a suit, he stood waiting, with only the minister next to him, having to control himself as best as he could not to run to her. He held out his hand, when she approached him, helping her up a couple of stairs, then entwining their fingers together.
"You are so breathtaking." Chad said, wanting to kiss her.
"Thank you." Stevie barely managed.
The ceremony was like a scene from a romantic movie. There was no one else needed, just the two people, who held deep beautiful feelings for each other, as they made their love official. With shaking hands they slid the rings on each other's fingers, clasping hands again, before they were allowed to make it true with a kiss as husband and wife...

I can never be sure what any of you truly think, but I loved writing this story and I needed it as a writer, to be able to continue with Buckingham Nicks. Thank you, those who liked it, voted and commented!
