We sat there in a comfortable silence for a few moments before I noticed Ari fiddling with my shirt.
"Jason?" She paused. "Why do you have blood on your shirt?" She released her grip from the blue fabric as I examined it. It was only a small speckle, but it was still noticable.
"I have no idea." I replied, pretending to be totally clueless.
"Jason." She said with a sigh, standing up and heading into the kitchen. "We've been back a day and you've already killed somebody." She commented.
"I had my reasons." I muttered back.
"You always have your reasons." She mumbled lowly, grabbing a carton of juice and going into the living room, me hot on her heels.
"Babe, its nothing."
"Jason killing someone is something." She retorted. "You kill people as if it's nothing. Jason that's a life you're taking away, the most precious thing a person can have. Half of them don't even do anything wrong and you just kill them because they make you mad. Jason you need to stop this."
"I'm sorry but when did I ask for your opinion?!" I snapped angrily.
"You didn't but I'm giving it to you. Face the truth Jason, you're a murderer." She replied smartly. I growled and stood up, kicking the side of the sofa as I did.
"Listen up bitch. It's my life, and half of the people I kill is because they try to hurt you. If you don't want me protecting you, thats fine, I'll stop right now. But just to let you know that you'll be dead in the next few days if I don't." I growled at her, finally giving her some sort of idea of how much danger she's in. I could feel her eyes burning into the back of my head as I charged out of the room and out the front door, placing a cigarette between my lips.
Ariana
After giving Jason a few moments to cool off, I decided I would go out and finish the 'argeument.' I shut the door quietly, finding him sitting in the shade and just staring out towards the pool. He twisted his head to the right and soon caught sight of me. He shot me a brief glare and turned his head the other way.
"Jason you can't keep on going on like this." I said as I walked closer to him. "You promised me in Hawaii that you were going to stop doing this." I added.
"I told you that I can't just stop!" He raised his voice slightly. "For god's sake, no matter where I am there's someone going to be chasing after me-" Before he could continue, I cut him off.
"And who's fault is that?" I questioned. He sighed, trying to keep his patience with me.
"Ariana just leave it, please?" He asked, looking at me sincerely. I sighed and stood up.
"Jason you're going to have to realise that you can't keep this up for the rest of your life. You're either going to end up getting killed or getting put in jail." I said before walking away.
"I know." He muttered. "But if I just stop doing what I'm doing you, my gang, all the people I'm close to." He paused briefly. "They'll all be dead. I know, its my fault that I'm in this situation but you need to understand that its not as easy as just dumping it and walking away." I nodded my head, and looked at the ground for a brief moment.
"I get that now." I replied.
"But the reason why I killed that guy was because he was planning on coming here to try and kidnap you." What he said made my head snap up to him. "I'm not trying to scare you, but if you want to know then I'll tell you." He replied.
"Why are all of your enemies after me and me only?" I questioned. Jason smiled and chuckled, shaking his head at who knows what.
"Because you're one of the only, if not the only peron who I actually love and care about deeply who can't protect themselves too well." I gasped fakely, trying to lighten the mood here a little bit.
"I can defend myself very well thank you very much." I replied.
"Not when someone tries to put a bullet through your brain." Jason replied, chuckling slightly. He opened up his arms for me. "Come here." I did as he asked and walked over to him so that I was sitting between his legs with my back against his chest and head on his right shoulder. Slowly, his arms slithered around my waist and rested on my stomach. "But I'm not going to let anyone hurt you, so don't worry." He whispered into my ear reassurringl. "I love you too much to let that happen babygirl."
