This is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Don't ask me why, I just like metaphors and stuff. Anyway, you should listen to it before you read this if you can. Thanks!
- Whitney aka the WAH in MAPWAH

Out here in the fields - Meaning a town, I think
I fight for my meals - Working hard for money
I get my back into my living - Something of significance must've just happened and they have to get there life back to normal (Ex: A bad breakup)
I don't need to fight
To prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven - I don't know how to explain those :|

Don't cry
Don't raise your eye
It's only teenage wasteland - I think that teenage wasteland could be a metaphor for high school

Sally ,take my hand - A new girlfriend maybe?
Travel south crossland - "Let's runaway together and become off-road hippies" is Off-road hippies a thing?
Put out the fire - running away will get you out of trouble (that not true that's just what I'm interpreting, don't runaway kids!)
Don't look past my shoulder
The exodus is here - well exodus means, and I quote from Dictionary.com, a mass departure of people, especially emigrants. So I think that it means a graduating from high school.
The happy ones are near
Let's get together
Before we get much older - IDK. I'm not a genius. Don't judge.

Teenage wasteland
It's only teenage wasteland - it's only High School.
Teenage wasteland
Oh, oh
Teenage wasteland
They're all wasted! - This one makes me laugh whenever I sing along to the song

IN CONCLUSION, Baba O'Riley is a song about the transition from a teenager to an adult. That's how I take it anyway. It's a cool song and don't worry the next chapter is going to be funny and not boring like this one.
