Some Tension On The Island

Chapter 6

“Let’s go fishing!” Blake exclaimed as they were discussing the plans for the day.

“What? No!” Adam protested quickly rejecting Blake’s idea that seemed lame to him. They could go fishing any other time.

“I like that” Christina stated.

“I’m sorry?” Adam asked giving Christina a surprised glance. She usually wasn’t the one to support such activities.

“What I can’t want to go finishing?”

“No, you can’t. You’d rather sunbathe than go fishing”

“Today I don’t want to sunbathe” Christina said pretty roughly making Adam questioning again. She was different for the past couple of days. It seems yesterday she was back to normal self till he saw her tonight and now she was back to be rude to his and to pushing him away, ignoring him. He wanted to know what was wrong so much. But he needed to wait for the right time.

He understood that now there was no sense to fight with her. He wouldn’t be able to turn everything into the joke as everything would just get worse. So he distracted from Christina turning to Blake. “Well, if the queen wants fishing then let’s go fishing”

Christina gave Adam a death glance but he just ignored it.

“What’s wrong with you two again?” Blake sighed watching them.

“Ask Christina” Adam answered roughly.

“Whatever!” She said as she started making her way out of the table they were all sitting around.

Adam could feel guilt coming up inside him as he rushed after her. “Christina! Wait!”

“What do you want?” she asked rudely turning to face him.

“What’s wrong?” he said caringly taking her hand in his. But she sharply pulled it away.

“Nothing”

“Christina…” Adam sighed. “I thought everything was fine”

“That you slept with me doesn’t make things fine” she was boiling from anger but he couldn’t get where it was coming from. He was lost.

Adam didn’t reply as he just looked into her eyes finding just sadness in them. He sighed hard before leaving her. There was no sense of talking to her now. He had no idea what was wrong but he wanted to fix it. He hated seeing such relationship between them. But right now he was helpless to improve them.

Going fishing they divided on three groups. Adam took Shakira, as always, when Blake took Christina, leaving Cee Lo, Carson and Usher in the third boat.

“What’s wrong, Christina?” Blake asked as they were already alone in the boat swimming away from the island deep into the sea.

“Nothing” she said simply. “I just don’t have a good mood. Let’s just do fishing. I just want to relax” Christina give a little smile trying to prove her words though it didn’t really work.

“Is it Adam?” he asked caringly.

“Not really” she sighed. “But he gets on my nerves today. I’m just not in a mood for his jokes”

“Ok” Blake said not truly believing her. But he could see that she didn’t want this talk now so he let this fishing go better as he changed the subject on something simpler.

“You have to learn me” Shakira said watching Adam. “Because I have no idea how to do it”

“I’ll be the best teacher. You’re lucky to be with me” Adam smiled.
