I toss a little moss ball to Berrykit. She giggles and jumps on it. Stripekit and Dustkit tackle it along with their sister.
It's been a few weeks since Darkgaze died. I try not to think about it, but I see her in her kits. It pains my heart to see them. I try not to blame them for their mothers death. After all, they didn't know what was going on.Berrykit is a ginger she cat with bright blue eyes. She doesn't really look like Darkgaze. Maybe its the dad. But then again, Darkgaze never mentioned a father.
Stripekit is a greyish, striped male. He doesn't look like Darkgaze either. Its probably their father again. Dustkit is really the only one who looks like her. He has that black pelt that she had except it has a brown tinge, but his eyes are yellow, not green. When I look at him, it pains me the most. I mean ya, I didn't know her very well and I shouldn't be this sad, but it felt like I had a deep connection with her. And after all, I am somewhat their mother now.
"Sapphireeyes." Berrykit squeaks. "You can play with us if you like!" I swear she is the sweetest kit ever. I nod to her and sit in the middle of them. They start running in opposite directions while I count.
"Ready or not here I come!" I start to take off to find them, but Sandytail jumps in front of me. I topple over him and he lands on his back with a thud. I open my eyes and he is laughing. I realize what i'm doing and scramble to my paws. "Why did you do that?" I hiss. "I nearly killed you!" I add. "I just wanted to go hunting with you that's all." He rises to his paws, still laughing. "Well, I don't think asking me to hunt takes me knocking you over." I purr. He looks at me for a heartbeat. I look back. "What?" I meow. He shrugs. "I don't know, lets just go." I see that glint in his eyes as he passes me.

Sandytail and I are racing through the forest. "Bet you can't catch me!" He calls. I rush past him. "Bet I can!" I snicker. A heartbeat later I hear a thud behind me and stop. I turn around and see Sandytail lying on the ground. I fill with horror. "Sandytail!" I cry as I rush to his side. I nudge him with my head. My eyes well up with tears. "Sandytail. Come on get up." I whisper. No response comes from him. A smile creeps across his face. "What?" He jumps up and tackles me. I glare at him. "That was not funny Sandytail!" I growl. He laughs, standing over me. "I thought you didn't care about me that much. Apparently you did." He purrs. "Don't get too cocky, I didn't say I cared about you." I purr. He stares down at me, looming over my body. Everything is silent. All I see is his eyes twinkling brightly. Why does this always happen? I shove him off of me. "Get off you big lug." I sit up to my paws. "Come on, let's grab our catch and head for camp." I meow.
Once there, I set my catch on the pile and head over to Creampaw. "You won't believe what happened between me and Sandytail while we were hunting." I say to her.
Oh Starclan, help me.
