Tyler Joseph...

"Sit down Peter." The substitute teacher, Mr. Brown I think it was, sighed at Pete. He was being his hot headed self again, making all of us get in trouble.

"Pete, stop making Mr. Brown angry." Patrick, Pete's best friend, whispered at him and yanking on his shirt.

"Why are you scolding me for defending Tyler?!" Pete yells at the man. I roll my eyes at him. Every new teacher thinks that I'm faking my muteness, so they always try to make me talk. "He can't speak! Is it that hard to understand?"

"Mr. Joseph, please just answer to your name when I call you." Mr. Brown rolls his eyes at Pete. For an old guy, he sure was a little bitch.

"He can't, Sir." Patrick piped up, giving me a small smile.

"Frankly, shut up Stump." Mr. Brown glares at Patrick, making the small boy cower in his desk. Patrick ended up not talking for the rest of day(except to Pete) he was so sad at being told to shut up from a teacher. He was always the nice one out of all of us. That made Pete mad as all Hell.

"Don't you tell Patrick to shut up." Pete argues with the man some more before I get fed up. I push my chair back and walk out of the room. I hear two more chairs slide against the flooring and follow me out.

"Are you okay Ty?" I hear Patrick's warming voice ask me. I shook my head no and traced a four on my hand. "That bad, huh?"

"Jesus Christ Ty, if you were that mad at me for yelling at him you could've just said no." Pete sighs. Then I just smile at him and pat his shoulder. The number thing was Patrick's idea by the way. He would ask me how I was feeling on a scale of one to ten. I used to always say ten and never meant it, but now I always put a five.

"It's cool." I mouth at him. He sighs in relief and gave me a half-hug. "I'm hungry."

"Want to go get food?" Pete offered. He always pays for us, I'm pretty sure it was for Pete to just make Patrick like him more.(Spoilers Alert: It was.) I shrug and the three of us start walking to Pete's Mercedes Benz. His parents were pretty rich so they got Pete anything he wanted. Except Patrick. "I think my dad's pissed at me."

"What for this time?" He punches my shoulder lightly and Patrick messes with his backpack straps. "Did they see your shrine to Patrick?"

"Shut the fuck up, Ty!" Pete yells and clamps his hand over my mouth. Patrick looked up at us and started to laugh.

"Why? I didn't say anything." I smirk at Pete's 'no shit' look. "Admit it, it was pretty funny."

"Uhuh. Probably when Hell freezes over." He mumbles as we arrive at his black car. We hop into his leather seats, me getting passenger seat today. "To Chick-fil-a!"

"Why doesn't anyone go to Burger King any more?" I'm random.

"Tyler, that makes no sense as to what the adults are talking about right now." Pete laughed and changed the radio from the station he left it on. I think it was heavy metal, I don't know. It was a long time ago. Pete finally chose a station he liked, usually the alternative station whenever all of us are in the car. "Arctic Monkeys, sweet."

You can press pause and rewind.

"I love Chick-fil-a." Pete says through a mouthful of food.

"I feel bad Pete, we're skipping class." Patrick mumbles quietly.

"We always skip class. And you never have to say anything when we were going to see David Bowie during Calculus." I point out, making Pete smile at his only victory agonist the tiny Saint Patrick. They usually fight small fights like this, but Patrick always wins due to Pete's undying love for him. I slowly sipped my peppermint chocolate milkshake as Pete tried to subtlety hold hands with Patrick. I wish I could contribute to the conversation.

"You're being really loud Tyler." Patrick jokes with a small blush on his pale skin. He loves Pete as much as a emo kid loves skinny jeans, that's a lot. Trust me, I know. Pete went through an emo phase in freshman year and middle school.

"We should get heading back." Pete mutters, checking his phone. "It's last period."

"Yay!" Patrick exclaims, picking up our trash and throwing it away. In short, last period + music - assholes = happiness. "Come on guys!"

"Never seen him so happy for something." Pete jokes. Patrick was always happy for last period.

"Liar."  I smirk at him and jump into the backseats of his car.

It's 2013 all over the galaxy.

We arrive just as Mr. Hemmings calls Patrick's name.

"Good timing this time, boys." He comments and continues on with everyone else. The three of bus usually sat in either the front with Mr. Hemmings or in the back. But this time, my eyes were trained on one person. When I was seventeen however, I didn't know that this new kid was going to change my life forever. "Today, we have a new student. Stand up please Joshua."

"It's just Josh." He looks over at me and shows the biggest smile I could ever have the pleasure of seeing. "But I'm nothing special."
