-Your P.O.V.-
"Why didn't you even tell me, Austin?" I spat in anger. Austin rolled his eyes. "Because it's not that big of a deal, y/n. We have bigger issues to worry about than some damn party." He argued before turning his attention back towards the computer screen on his desk. I turned him back around.
"Are you kidding? This will show off our power and wealth. We're just now getting big. We need to show our competition who's in charge."
"Yeah because partying shows how powerful we are." Austin sarcastically stated.
I folded my arms across my chest. "C'mon, Austin. All we do is stupid work. Why don't we let loose a bit?"
I poured my lip for the dramatic effect. Austin kept looking at me, pondering my words before cracking into a small smile.
"You're so damn cute, you know that, right?" He chuckled as I leaped into his lap in glee.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I chirped as I hugged him. He patted my head.
"Anything to please my princess."

"I really like this dress." Austin's sister, Jessica, commented as she pulled out a short black dress from the clothing rack. Since I'm not allowed to have any real contact with the public, Jessica is the closest thing I have to an actual friend.
I examined the dress of her choice before making my decision. "I like it, but it reveals too much cleavage. You know Austin wouldn't approve of it."
"True," she put the dress back on the clothing rack as she kept searching, "I'm surprised you even convinced him to go."
I pulled out a dress I liked before putting it back on the rack. "What do you mean?"
"You know how my brother is; all work, no play."
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but I feel like going to this dance will involve some business benefit to it."
"How is going to a party full of criminals going to have any benefit? You're lucky if you even come out alive!" She exclaimed. I shot her a glare.
"Be any louder, would ya?"
"I'm sorry, but I just don't see the positive side to going to this party."
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. I'm sick of having to explain my motives over and over again to everybody. It's like no one trust me. I know I've only been in this lifestyle for a short period of time, but I'm wiser than people give me credit for. I studied the way criminals think in college. I also studied how to twist my words to get my way.
"Look, I've explained it before," I rolled my eyes, "but if I must explain myself once again, I will. We are examining our competition and showing off our power and wealth. We plan on rising to the top and anyone who dares to interfere will suffer the consequences."
Jessica turned to look at me with a puzzling look. "Or do you really want to go to see Justin?"
I raised an eyebrow, taken back by her sudden words. I've never spoken about Justin except for the fact that he kidnapped me and try to force me to be his lover. But I never opened up about my feelings towards him. That's a dam of emotions just waiting to break.
"W-what?" I choked out.
She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "Come on, y/n. I'm not stupid. The only reason you want to go to this stupid thing is to see Justin."
I faked a laugh at her stupidity, but she wasn't buying it. Her piercing light blue eyes were sending daggers into mine.
"You're delusional." I say, trying to brush off the subject as I went back to searching through the dresses. I could still feel her disapproval stare on me. This made me feel very uncomfortable and I knew she wouldn't stop until she heard what she wanted to hear. She wasn't wrong, but there was no way in hell that I would ever admit that to her. I'm dating Austin. I'm not suppose to be having feelings for my ex. Besides, it's not like he even remembers me. Why should a single restless night ever be wasted on him?
