It was night time in town and the streets were quiet. Families were all at home, enjoying themselves. The only thing on the streets were some stray cats. "Hey, Jon." said a teenage female. "How far is it to Krystal's house." she continued. "Well, Laurie if we go through the forest it will be quicker." said Jon the teenage male of the two. "Besides, why do you want to go there and isn't her mom having some sort of party." he said. " Well first her mom's party should be over by the time get there. Know the reason I want to see her is because I'm worried sick about her." said Laurie. The two adolescents kept walking down a small path in the woods.
"So, Laurie I always wanted to know. Why would you take Krystal by the arm and run off with her last year?" asked Jon. "Well, I'm sorry Jon but, that's a secret between her and me." Laurie said in response. "Oh, so why can't you tell me it happen last year." he said. While trying to avoid what he said Laurie sat on a old cut down tree. "Well why don't you tell me." he said to see if she heard him. Laurie looked up with a smile trying not to look bad. "Hey, that was the past." she said. "Past. That was last year in eleventh grade. Plus it made the rest of your friends and Krystal's friends aggravated." he said sitting next to her. "Well to bad, what was said between Krystal and I is not ant of your concern." she said in a strong voice. "Fine, if that's how it is going to be then, I think I'll go for a short walk." Jon said while elevating himself of the tree. "Wait Jon, I didn't mean to be harsh. But why do you want to know anyway." Laurie said standing up too. "I was just trying to protect you." he said. "Protect me from what?" she said with a little smile. With no response Jon walked off into the distant darkness of the woods.
Laurie sat back on the tree thinking where Jon had gone. The only noise was of birds in the trees. Until her phone rang which made her jump onto the ground. " Son of a..." she stopped her self so the person calling wouldn't hear her. "Hello" she said trying to sound happy. "Hey Laurie, its Krystal." the person said. "Krystal, I'm so glad you called...wait Krystal! I'm sorry I didn't make it to your moms party. How was it?" Laurie said. "I was just like the last one, burrowing but, this time they actually ate my moms food." Krystal said while laughing. Laurie quickly turned around to the hearing of something behind her. "Are you okay?" Krystal asked. "Yeah, I heard something. It must be a squirrel or something" Laurie said in response. In the back around of the call Laurie heard a little ring. "What was that?" Laurie said. "I got a text. Will you hold on so I can answer it?" Krystal said.
Swiping her screen to read the text Krystal's heart dropped. "What in the world." she said to herself. Her eyes almost popped out of her head at sight of the picture and the caption along with it. The picture was of a brunet haired girl in the woods. The words under it made it even creepier. "Tell me her secret or she dies." it read. Like the speed of light she replied to the message. "What secret?" she sent. "You know what I'm talking about." the person responded. Another photo appeared after the text. The photo was know of a person wearing the same mask from the other picture that was sent to her. The person was also holding a knife in one of their hands. Before she could even do anything she called back her friend, whose life could now be at risk.
"Ring, ring." Laurie's phone sounded. "Hey Krystal who..." before finishing her sentence she was interrupted. "Laurie get out of there, now!" Krystal said. "Why, is something wrong?" Laurie said thinking it was a joke. "Shut up and listen you need to..." she was interrupted by her phone. "Ding, ding" Krystal's phone went. Another message had just been sent. "Time to bring Laurie's life to an end." it read. Krystal called back Laurie knowing that every minute could be Laurie's last.
Laurie stood in the middle of the forest alone and helpless. "Ring, ring." her phone went. "Alright Krystal you need to tell me what's going on right know." she said. "I'll tell you later but, please get out of the woods." Krystal said. "I can't leave." she said. "Why not?" Krystal said all concerned. "Because, I have to wait for Jon to get back. Were ever he is." Laurie said still nice and calm. "Wait, what do you mean by, were ever he is." Krystal said with her heart bounding. "He left me hear because, I wouldn't tell him why you and me would sneak off from the group. So he just got up and left." Laurie said while sitting back down. "That's what he wanted to know." Krystal said softly hoping Laurie wouldn't hear her. "Did you say something?" Laurie asked. Before Krystal could answer Laurie heard a cracking noise behind her. "Hey, Krystal I'm going to to call you back." she said. "No!" Krystal began. "Why not." Laurie said before hanging. "Because I don't want to lose you." she said. Their was no answer for a minute which caused Krystal's heart to bound. "Krystal, I found Jon." finally said Laurie. "Good! Now get you and him out of there." Krystal demanded. "Wait a minute." Laurie said. All Laurie could see was Jon standing on top of a fallen tree. "Hey!" she shouted in his direction. "Come on we need to go." she continued. There was no answer from him. Laurie stood there waiting for him to come over. All he did was stand there. "Alright Krystal I'm going to call you back." she said into her phone. "Wait don't..." Krystal was cut off.
Laurie walked towards Jon who still hadn't moved. "Hey!" she shouted. "Did you hear me? We have to go.". There was no response. Laurie looking frustrated continued walking towards him. Jon began to turn around but stopped half way. "Are you okay?" she asked after getting up behind him. He shock his head up and down to reply. "Good, because if not I wasn't going to carry you back." after saying that she laughed then gripped his arm. He ripped his arm out of her hand in anger. "What's wrong." she said. Soon he began to turn around to face her face to face. "Ah!" she screamed. To the sight of a white mask with deep dark eye holes and blood like scar lines on it. "Jon what are you doing." she asked. The only thing that happen was that a hunting knife was placed in front of her face. "What the heck is wrong with you." she said while beginning to cry. Laurie then pushed herself away and jumped down from the tree and ran.
She stopped to catch her breath. Looking behind her see noticed that Jon was gone. "If I go to school tomorrow he is so going to die." she said to herself. "Crunch!" the sound of a branch braking made Laurie jump. "Ah!" she screamed at the sight of a knife being held my the masked person. Laurie tripped over her own feet and fell to the the dirt ground. "Please, stop this." she pleaded.
He lowered his hand that gripped the knife. Then he reached down and gave her a hand. "Thank you, I guess." she said after getting up on her feet. "You know, I actually thought you were going to...Ah!" she screamed interrupting her own sentence. She reached down to her stomach to stop the blood from coming out of her.Laurie fell down again and couldn't get back up. She began to grap the dirt on the ground to crawl herself away. Then in a gleam of hope she heard her phone ring. Reaching for it she noticed that the person who tried to kill her was gone. "Laurie" said the person on the other end. "Krystal, call the police." she said. "What, why?" Krystal asked. "He's trying to kill me." Laurie said while attempting to get up. "Whose trying to kill you?" she asked while wondering. "Jon, he stabbed me and...ah!" Laurie screamed. "What's going on?" Krystal cried out into the phone. The only thing she could hear was Laurie screaming at someone. "Stay away. You hear me, stay way or I'll kill you." Laurie said while picking up a broken branch. Turning around she was slapped across the face making her drop the branch and her phone.
The person who was carrying the knife quickly cut Laura's leg. "Ah!" cried Laurie from the two injuries. "Laurie are you okay." said Krystal who was still on the phone. All she could hear was her friend crying and yelling. Until see got a text from the unknown stocker. There was a picture of Laurie on the ground bleeding out with a caption. "She's not going to see graduation and nether will the rest of your friends." it said. Krystal called the police in hopes that they get there in time.
Laurie who lays hopeless on the ground is starting to gasp for air. The person came over to her and pulled back her neck. Laurie began to cry out but hardly could. "No, please don't." she said with a faint tone. The person placed the knife on one end of her neck. She could fell the cold metal knife against her skin. Her cries had suddenly stopped for the person slit her neck from on ear to the other. Laurie watched in her dying eyes as her killer began to walk away.
