"Burns, Donavan wants to see you." Some agent told me. I couldn't recall her name at the time. I jogged over to HQ and went straight to her office. "You wanted to see me?" I asked standing stiffly.

"Yes, take a seat." Donavan said her back ttowards me. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared of what she wanted to see me about. I took a seat and fidgeted with the end of my sleeve. There was about a five minute of silence before Donavan finally turned around and sat down.

"Is it true that you brought in this town a male?" She asked me her voice calm and collected. Her dark brown eyes bore into my very soul.

Well he's ..." I started.

"Yes or no Agent Burns." She said firmly and if possible her dark eyes hot darker. I sighred and looked down at my hand.

"Yes." I waited for her to yell at me, to get angry, possibly order my death but there was aabsolutely nothing. Not one sound.

I dared to look up and Donavan seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.

Was he infected? " She asked me her words slow and careful.

"No."

"Is he contained?"

"Yes."

"Are you ready to take the fall if he attacks us?" She stared at me again. Her face was hard and unreadable. I wanted to say that he wouldn't attack us. I wanted to say that there was nothing to worry about but I had no basis for my claims. She was right to ask me if I was ready to take the fall. I took in a deep breath and answered her.

"Yes.". She only nodded and marked something down.

"Dismissed." I left quickly and headed out of HQ. I needed answers. I need them now.

I walked to the hospital. Taking deep breathes I walked up the stairs and into Houston's bedroom. I knocked on the door and heard a weak,

"Come in." I walked in and he offered a crooked smile.

"Oh its you. I was hoping it would be you. It is devastatingly boring up here and the doctor is of absolute no fun." He said as if speaking to a long time friend.

"Thats not why I'm here." I said simply and he chuckled.

"No it isnt. You want answers." I nodded and he sat up a bit and motioned to a chair.

"You may want to sit down." I nodded and grabbed a chair pulling it beside him.

"Start asking questions, Skye. " Houston said and coughed.

"Where are you from?"

"Santa Cruz, California. "

"Where are you going?"

" Santa Cruz, California." I frowned and decided to ask differentky .

"Where did you just come from?" He smiled as if I had asked the right question.

"Scranton, Pennsylvania. " My eyes widened with surprise. I've seen maps and I know there is a long distance between California and Pennsylvania.

"Why are you traveling so far?" But I got no reply. He was fast asleep as if all of this was a game. I got up frustrated and stalked out.

Faye's P.O.V

I huffed as a threw a punch at the punching bag. I danced on the balls of my feet and threw two more punches and a side kick. My older sister, Skye, was somewhere about taking care of business as usual. I sighed and looked out the tiny window in the warehouse that stared at the blue sky. I felt trapped in this town and I wanted out. I wanted to be free.

"Get back to work Burns." My trainer called. I sighed and danced on the balls of my feet and threw three punches and a roundhouse kick. My thoughts wondered to three weeks ago. Before the male ever came into town.

*flashback*

I jogged around town my blonde hair bouncing around. I needed to keep my shape if I was going to be a great agent like my sister. I gasped for air and stopped my hands on my knees as I took deep breaths. I was sweating like crazy it wasn't funny. All of a sudden a heard rustling in a nearby bush.

"Hello? Is someone there?" I called walking slowly. A girl about my age crawled out of the bushes. She had really short hair that she almost looked like a boy and it was a bright orange. Her bright blue eyes held mischief and trouble.

"Hello, Faye." She said to me as if we were the best of friends. Which we werent.

"I'm sorry who are you?" I asked and the girl gave a curt bow.

"My name is Viviane Eklund and I'm here to help you." I frowned deeper.

"Look Eklund..."

"Viviane." I sighed and corrected myself.

"Look, Viviane, I dont need your help. I'm fine on my own." I said and turned around ready to jog again.

"I know why we are here." She said as if daring me to deny her. I sighed thinking I should but I didn't I turned around.

"I already know why we're here." I said placing my hands on my hip.

She smirked at me as if she held the most deepest and darkest secret known to man, to this community.

"I know the REAL reaaon why we're here." I thought it over. I always wondered deep down inside if there was a bigger plan in work here. I guess I wasn't alone in that thought.

"Well..."

"Well what?"

"Why are we really here?" I asked and she smirked talking out a worn out receipt from a memory of the pass. Written on the back was a time and place.

"Meet us there if you really want to know." She said and then disappeared. I looked down at the receipt and stuffed it in my pocket continuing my run.

~~*~~*~~*~~

The receipt was still in my pocket. Three weeks and I hadn't once went there to meet her. I saw her during practice but I avoided her at all cost. She would only stare at me as if she knew I wanted to know. Now with an uninfected man in town more questions had been brought up. Questions I needed answers to. Questions that this Eklund could answer.
