It was like every normal day, walking Yukine home to Kofuko and Diakoku's. He walked quietly next to her, the sun setting and the pretty colors of the sunset bathing the sky. Reiki smiled at him. He seemed to be lost in thought about something, but she didn't want to interrupt him by asking
The sun hid behind behind the buildings as the sky turned a dark navy blue color. The stars started forming in the sky. Suddenly Yukine came back to reality and stopped walking. " what is it Yukki?" She asked looking at him. " It's dark... I didn't realize the time, I have to get home!" He said and started running towards Kofuko's.
" Wait Yukine!" She called running after him. She ran through all the people walking down the sidewalk like she was trying to get through a maze. I promised Yukine that this would never happen again. I know he's afraid of the dark... I just lost track of time...
She continued running after him until she caught up to the small running boy and pulled him back into a tight hug. " I'm so sorry Yukine I didn't mean for this to happen." She said. He was trembling in fear ;His face was burried in her shoulder. She rubbed his back and held him close " come on lets get you back to Kofuko's."
The walk back was quiet. Reiki held his hand trying to comfort him so he wouldn't be as scared. She walked him to the door " Here we are." She said smiling. Before he left, Yukine turned to her, his face flushed " thanks for everything today Reiki... I had fun." She smiled at her friend and looked down at him " No problem Yukine, I had fun too."
"D-Do you think we could do it again sometime?" He asked, his face still a deep red. She nodded " We can go watch a movie, and then get icecream if you want, instead of dinner." She said. He nodded and smiled at her " Thank you for comforting me... I don't know what I'd do without you." He said
Her cheeks flushed " Of course Yukine, I would never let anything bad happen to you." He stared into her eyes for a few seconds, before standing on his tiptoes and kissing her on the lips. She kissed him back, smiling against his lips. She picked him up so he could reach her better. He wrapped his legs around her and hugged her neck. " I love you Reiki." He said
" I love you too Yukine."
