Iwaizumi Hajime x Sick! Female Reader |

---

"Iwaizumi, you don't have practice on Mondays, right? Let's drop by—"a classmate suggested, holding up a pamphlet of a newly opened store.

"I'm sorry, I've something on so I'll be heading off first." Iwaizumi cut in, giving an apologetic face. Already having packed up his bag and was preparing to exit the classroom, "Maybe next time?"

"Eh? Wait—"

"Ah, he left..."

---

"Thank you for your purchase!" Iwaizumi exited the cake shop, a small box of cake in one hand.

Humming softly to himself as he made his way to his destination.

---

Entering through the edges of the cold, steel door, a familiar smell overcame Iwaizumi. The smell of Disinfectant. Everything was white, the walls, and tiled floor. The strong smell reeked gave Iwaizumi a headache. Scrunching his nose in distaste, he made his way through.

"Ah! Hajime-kun, you are here again." The female receptionist smiled.

"Good afternoon." Iwaizumi greeted back.

"You have been coming here more frequently." She pointed out.

"A-ah... Interhigh is coming up soon. I won't be able to come here as frequent as I do now. Since I've the time now, I will like to make full use of it." lifting a hand to rub the back of his neck as he averted his eyes, blushing slightly.

"Oh, young love," cupping her face, with a dreamy look, "It must be nice being young."

"I-it's n-not l-l-like t-that!" Iwaizumi protested, face turning red at her teasing.

"Haha! There's no need to be shy!" Patting on Iwaizumi's shoulder, giving him a wink, "Go on, you don't want keep her waiting do you?"

---

Mumbling silent curses under his breath, his face still burning red from the conversation as he made his way down the hall.

'Room 404, [Last Name] [First Name]'

Stopping in his tracks as he sees the familiar number and name plates. Taking a deep breath, knocking onto the door before his hands shakily reaching out to the door handle.

With sudden confidence, Iwaizumi pushed the door open.

Expecting to see the familiar silhouette of a female lying on top of the bed behind the curtains as, she reads a book. Greeting Iwaizumi cheerfully once she has took noticed of him. However, after drawing the curtains, only a neatly made bed was seen. There was no sign of any human around.

Iwaizumi felt his heart dropped at the sight, dropping the box of cake in progress. He closed his eyes tightly and balled his fists, feeling a lump in his throat but ignored it. Racing thoughts began to flash in his mind as he wondered where [Name] disappeared to.

Turning, Iwaizumi ran out of the room in search of [Name]. Sweat pouring down his face, fist turning white. The angry pitter-patter of the soles of his shoes hitting the ground. He could feel his pulse beating in his ears, blocking out all other sound except the breath that was raggedly moving in and out of his mouth at regular, gasping intervals.

Slightly disoriented and breathing heavily, he pushed past hospital staff and visitors. Already his mind was leaping to the worst case scenario.

"Hajime-kun?" a female questioned, making Iwaizumi stop at his track, "What are you doing? Running isn't allowed in the hospital, you know?"

Spinning on his feet, eyes wide with utter debrief, turning to look at [Name].

"H-hajime-kun?" [Name] stuttered, slightly intimidated by the stare Iwaizumi was giving her.

Iwaizumi reached out with arms extended, wrapping them tightly around [Name]. [Name] let out a squeak at the surprising gesture, muscle tensing up due to the sudden closeness. Not knowing how to react, [Name] awkwardly circled her arms around his back, squeezing back gently then firmly. Soon, melting into his touch, closing her eyes as the time seemed to have stopped for them. Feeling herself safe and comfortable in his arms. Smiling to herself, 'It's warm'.
