NOTE: as it's nearing Christmas I thought I would put up an extra chapter! ENJOY!

I paused for a second.

It couldn't be a joke or a prank, because it wasn't April fools.

"What did you just say?"

I surely had to be hearing things.

"W-we're at the Alfred hospital they just brought them here." it all seemed like a whizz, "We were driving home from the city and we got hit."

My heart dropped, "I-is, everyone okay?" I asked licking my lips as I kneeled on the ground, I wasn't sure if the ground was moving, or my eyes were.

And my stomach felt weird, that strange feeling I had all night only became strong and I felt cold, surely this was a joke.

"I don't know,"

I could hear the little shake in her voice, and that was enough to tell me that it didn't sound too good.

"Eve?"

I looked over my shoulder at the voice to see a sleepy and confused Nik standing in the corridor, "What are you doing here?"

I cleared my throat standing up, "I'll be there as soon as I can." I told Jan before hanging up I needed a shower and then I needed to get myself there.

Don't think about it too much.

Nik's green eyes watched me as I slowly put my phone away, why were my fingers shaking, "Eve?"

"Hmm?" Oh right, "I uh, I need a ride. Can you drop me off?"

"Of course, is everything okay?" he reached for my arm as I started to walk past him and I moved it away.

"I'll explain in the car, I need a shower."

He hesitated but nodded stepping aside to let me through and I rushed into the bedroom. Surely it wasn't that bed. Maybe they were just being checked up. Not an accident, accident right?

I cleared the thoughts out of my head as I grabbed the first thing I saw in my wardrobe and heading to the bathroom.

Why didn't I feel anything?

I wasn't panicking like I could hear in Jan's voice, for gods sake I was taking my time and having a shower and not rushing over to the hospital.  Should I be rushing? What was the etiquette. Do I dress up, do I not? What clothes am I meant to wear.

I switched the shower off, it was a very fast shower just to freshen up and dried my body as I pulled on my black jeans and the red jumper on and ran a hand through my wet hair. I can deal with all of this later.

I  opened the door, to see Nik already dressed, "Do you want a shower?" I asked confused.

"I'll take one later it's fine, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, can you drop me at the Alfred?"

Or should I just get a cab. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered him, let him sleep while I dealt with this by myself, like how I always do. But having someone else with me made it better, or did it.

"Eve." I looked up realising he was in front of me, I flinched as his finger brushed my cheek, almost like a jerk reaction. I didn't want to flinch, but I didn't like the touch either, and he noticed, "What's wrong?"

"Jan called," I said clearing my throat and stepped away, bag, I needed my bag wallet and phone. Wait, they were already in the lounge room. I grabbed a pair of flats out of the closet throwing them on, "There's been an accident."
