calum hood age 13:

i found an old video of me and lucy singing
it was buried beneath a pile of nostalgic home videos
i was surprised when i discovered they were still in good shape

i pressed play and the video started with a close up shot of Lucy's nose.
i let out a laugh watching this memory
she was smiling
i forgot how beautiful her smile was

"lucy stop your giggling, sing sing sing"
my mum's chanting voice came through
it was staticky on this old tape

Lucy sat up,
the same baseball cap that was currently sitting on my shelf was placed on her head
she fixed it up and smiled at the camera

my heart skipped
her calm blue eyes bored into the camera as if she could really see me
when she didn't quit staring
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion
it scared me when her eyebrows did the same

could it be that she can actually-

'lulu'
the camera turned slightly left
and there stood little me
walking into the room and plopping down next to Lucy

'can I sing too?'
I cringed at how high my voice was

'of coarse cal'
and that's what we did
we sang the alphabet
very badly might I add.

at the end Lucy looked back at the camera
her expression was blank as she gave a small wave
the screen went black straight after

i must be seeing things,
no way could she of seen me

right?
