Friendship Boundaries

It had been about a week since Lucy had told Natsu that she had liked him. Natsu, for one, had been pretty shocked and a bit embarrassed, but Lucy, however, having no recollection of confessing to Natsu, treated Natsu the same as always. If she ever had a chance to talk to him, that is.

In a small apartment in Magnolia, a certain celestial wizard was fast asleep, dreaming about the Fairy Tail guild, until an uknown figure woke her up.

"Natsu!" she cried out, as she grabbed her pillow and started to throw it at the figure. "My waifu! Although we must be chained by the laws of spirit and master, I'll always allow you to hit me!" said a very flirtatious voice as Lucy lowered her pillow to glance at the figure.

"Loke! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" she yelled, "I thought you were a robber, or maybe N-Natsu!"

           "But alas, he hasn't been here for at least a week now, so as my job as your spirit, I thought I would help you get up, my princess!" Loke cried.

            Although Loke always flirted with her, giving her flowers or chocolates, what he had said was true. Natsu hadn't stepped into her house, much less talked to her willingly in a week!

"So," Loke started saying, as he dug through her panties drawer, "would you like to wear a sexy lingerie, or you're innocent sky blue panties?"

             Embarrassed, Lucy quickly shut her panties drawer, which also closed in on Loke's fingers.

"Ow!" he cried out, "This must be the pain we both feel when we are apart from each other!"

             Rolling her eyes, Lucy quickly grabbed his key and summoned him back into the celestial spirit world, forgetting that he could still travel back to her apartment, whether she liked it or not.

As Lucy walked over to the guild, she quickly finished up her simple breakfast and opened the doors to the rowdiest guild in town.

             As usual, once Natsu caught a glimpse of her, he ran to the back of the guild, pretending that she hadn't come in.

          What was going on with him? she wondered, as she looked at the job board for a job with a high reward for her apartment rent. Hmmm maybe I should ask Natsu to come along. After all, we always do missions together, she thought, as she ripped a job off the board and went over to Natsu.

"Natsu!" she shouted, as she ran over to him, "Wanna do this job?"

            He jumped, startled that she had yelled his name and quickly took a glimpse at the job. "N-no thanks Luce," he said, as he blushed. Blushing, because every time he saw her, he recalled her confession. But of course, Lucy didn't know anything about it. "I'm kinda busy so..." he said, as he pondered about which excuse to make.

"So that's it?" Lucy said, "You're just making up some random and lame excuse not to be with me?" Oh no, this wasn't the way things were supposed to go, she thought, He was supposed to accept the mission and they would have fun doing it, while playing around, just like the good old times.

"N-no! It's just cuz you're...." he paused, as Lucy tried to think of what he was going to say, but what he said, was worse than what she would have thought he would've told her. "Weak! It's cuz you're weak!" he said, as everyone gasped. Everyone, including Natsu knew how she hated being called weak and never mentioned it. Until now, that was.

"W-what?" she stammered as she tried to focus on what he had said. He knew that she had insecurities about her strength, and yet.... "So that's it? I'm too weak for you?" she asked, as tears slowly gathered on her face, ready to fall.

            "W-wait, no! That's not what I-" Natsu began to say, trying to take back his words.

           "Well fine!" Lucy yelled, as she cut him off, "I'll never go near you, much less talk to you again!" she yelled, as she ran out of the guild, tears streaming out of her eyes.
