chapter 11

-laura- 

We were sat eating the only meal Danny can cook, fish and chips, he mention that Lynn suggested that his mum should be moved into a care home closer to here.

"Danny, it could be for the best, if she is closer to you it will be easier for you to see her. She will also be looked after properly too. Think about it yeah?" I said. I could see it was tearing him apart knowing his mum was losing her memories and constantly forgetting things. It was obvious he was putting on a brave face. I've heard him crying when I've slept over.

"Laura?" He asked

"Mhm?"

"Stay here tonight? I don't want to be alone, please?" He practically begged

"Yeah, if you'll take me to McDonalds?" I joked to lighten the mood. It didn't work.

We cleaned away the dishes and I went to but my jarmies on to watch 'the others' with danny. It was 10:45pm when the film ended but I wasn't ready for bed. I stuck dispicable me on when Danny dawdled up the stairs. I couldn't help but laugh at the little minions. They were so cute and yellow, they sorta reminded me of Alex with the weirdness. The film ended at 12:10am and I realised I was supposed to ring Alex to arrange what day we were wandering.

"Hello" a hyper Alex yelled into the phone

"Hiya, when are we meeting tomorrow to go on our walk?" I questioned her

"Danny said your going to McDonalds so any time after then" she replied

"So around 2ish?"

"Yeah since good bye!!!" She laughed

I pressed the end call button and jumped of the sofa to go upstairs to bed. Danny was sleep but rolled over and threw his arm over my waist when I climbed into the bed next to him.

-Alex-  

I woke up at 10am, Dougie was already awake and in the shower. I pulled on my hoodie over my pajamas then jumped down the stairs two by two. I reached the bottom and sprinted through the house to the kitchen to make my self a cup of tea. I was living here and didn't feel awkward wandering around helping myself to food and tea. I may be 20 but I was a kid at heart so on went spongebib on dougies huge TV whilst I munched on my coco rocks. When Dougie finally came down he was dressed in a shirt and his good jeans.

"Where are you off to dressed like that?" I asked

"Well your going on a walk so I thought I would go to a certain place to arrange a certain something for a certain someone" he said mysteriously.

"Well, good luck with that" I said before turning my head back to the screen.

"What? No goodbye?" He said faking a hurt expression

"Bye darling dougie, however will I live without you by my side?!?!" I said dramatically.

I waited until 12 before jumping in the shower ready to go out with Laura. It was a really long shower but I had time to kill so who even cares? I climbed out and got dressed. I was just wearing my jeans and top with my cosy hoodie. I dried my hair the scraped it into a pony tail before applying my makeup. I went back down stairs and ate a sandwich. I was just swallowing the last bite when the doorbell rang. I hoped off the bar stool and went to the door swinging it open. It was harry at the door.

"Hey can we talk please?" He asked

"ERM yeah but make it quick, j need to leave in 26mins, now go" I said timing him.

"O..k.. look what I wanted to say was that you need to remember how dougie can get. You need to try and keep him stress free, if you succeed with that life shouldn't be too difficult. And about the wedding, if he wants to help you with it, you should let him, he hates not knowing and please what ever you do DO NOT LEAVE HIM!" Harry warned me.

"Yes I know, I'll keep him calm and course he will be part of it! I can't make desicions harry, you should know that! And why on earth would I leave him? I love him harry, he means the world to me and more! Plus that other lass left him 2 weeks before the wedding with no explanation, I wouldn't do that to him" I said

"I know I just had to say it, anyway, your going to be late, I'll let you go meet Laura, bye" he said hugging me tight before exiting the house and jogging down the drive towards his car.

I saw Laura and we headed off on our walk around the country park, to see the horses, to the field of Shetlands, to find out little 'friends' and then to sit in our wall until Doug came to get me. While we were walking round the park we were talking about my wedding.

"When do you want the wedding Alex?" Laura asked

"I don't know, I think I'd like it to be in July one year so hopefully its warm but I'd have to discuss it with dougie and even if its not in July we can go abroad" I replied happily before she sent another question flying at me.

"When do you think Danny will ask me if he does?" She asked

"How on earth do I know that?" I laughed. She joined in too.

We were chilling in our wall for about 20mins till Double got here. Tom was in the car with him.

"Hiya tom" I said cheerily before we drove of.

-Danny-  

It was 12 in the morning and I new Laura's family would be asleep so I climbed up to her bedroom window. She let me in and we just sat and talked for ages. I felt like I was a teenager again climbing into my first girlfriends room in the middle of the night hoping neither if our parents should notice. Mind you my ability to climb had decreased over the years. I stayed at her house until 3am. At 2am I asked the most important thing of my life

"Laura, this might seem totally random, but will you marry me, please?" I asked "you see I want to marry you and I want to marry you whilst my mum will still remember the wedding"

"Ermergerd Danny! Yes yes yes yes yes" Laura half shouted excitedly.
