So Close - Ryann and Toby

Chapter 4

Toby's POV

I hated telling Ryann to be with Riley. I really liked her, but let's face it. it just couldn't work. No matter how much I would like it too. If i'm being honest, I don't think Ryann is going to want to be with Riley. It might sound selfish, but I hope that I can forget about her, soon.

But I couldn't.

The only person I could think about for the rest of the day was Ryann. Ryann. Ryann.

I desperetly wanted to call her, but I just couldn't. I didn't have much to worry about, since this was our last day in Arizona, but I needed to see her. Just one more time.

I called her cell phone from my bunk and waited for her to answer. Eventually, I heard the voicemail tone go off and i hung up. No answer. I decided that I just needed some fresh air. Maybe even play a little football with Riley. When was the last time i saw Riley? Not since last night. I searched around the bus, and to my suprise he was no where to be found. 

"Connor, have you seen Riley?" I asked my brother.

"He's not here. He went out with Ryann." COnnor replied.

He went out with Ryann. Great, this was exactly what I was hoping wouldn't happen. No wonder Ryann didn't answer my call. She was with Riley. And I was alone.

Ryann's POV

I had just woken up when Riley called me.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Ryann. I was wondering if you want hang out soon." he said.

I wasn't sure if Riley wanted to hang out as more than friends or not, but i wasn't about to argue it. 

"Sure! What time?" I answered.

"In about an hour!"

He gave me the details about where we could meet up, but I only had one question on my mind.

"Is anybody else going? Like, maybe Connor. Or Toby?" I asked.

"Well, I wanted it to be just us. if that's okay." he said.

"Okay, yeah that's fine." I replied. I really wanted Toby to be there, but I still remembered what he said to me the previous day. He has no interest in me, and Riley does. Maybe I should just go for it. Maybe me and Riley will be really happy together. Who knows.

Toby's POV

I frantically called Riley on his phone, waiting for an answer. When he finally picked up, I yelled "Riley, where are you?" He replied with "I' m out. With Ryann."

Where are you, though?" I asked

"That's none of your business, Toby." He angrily said.

I needed to know where they were. I couldn't let Riley be with Ryann. I had made a huge mistake, and I needed to fix it. But I knew that Ryann wouldn't just suddenly love me. Especially after what I said to her yesterday. 

I hung up on Riley and waited for him to get back. Shit. Why was this happening to me. I wasn't seriously in love with her. But the thing is, I am. I just couldn't help it. She was just so pretty, and amazing. I couldn't let her go. Not without a fight.
