So Close - Ryann and Toby

Chapter 6

Ryann's POV

I waited on the phone for Toby to hang up with Connor and talk. Did he even hear what I just told him? I didn't plan on repeating myself, if that was the case. I couldn't wait any longer. He had me waiting for ten minutes. I hung up, and shot him a text that said 'Hey, sorry I had to go. Give me a call when you're available." Hopefully he would call me back. 

When I got home, I waited around for his call like a desperate girl. Well, I might have been desperate but he didn't need to know that. I eventually decided to do something more productive with my wait, and called Emilie.

"Hello?" she said.

"Hey, what's up?" i asked.

"I'm at the hospital. Why aren't you here?" she questioned.

"What are you talking about? Why would I be at a hospital? Why are you there?" questions flowed out of me so fast, I couldn't control it. 

"I think you should get over to the hospital fast." she said.

"it's Riley"

Toby's PPOV

I got Connor to pick me up and take me to the hospital. I needed to know that Riley was okay. I asked Connor what about what happened to Riley, but he didn't knwo yet. Nobody knew what happened to Riley.

Connor said that he asked Emilie to come to the hospital, because he needed support. I really needed support right now, too. I thought about calling Ryann and asking her to meet us at the hospital, but I knew that Ryann was the last person Riley would want to see right now. 

We finally made it to the hospital, and we all frantically exited the car. We ran into the lobby and asked for directions to Riley's room. The lady said he was in room 103 and we made our way over there.

We entered his room, and we there was a group sigh of relief. Riley looked fine, other that a couple of bruises and scratches. We all walke dover to his bed and started loading him with questions. After a minute, Riley said "Stop!"

We were all taken back by this because we needed to know what was wrong with him, and he didn't want to talk to us.

"Riley, what happened?" Connor asked

"I got into a car accident. But I'm fine. Listen, i'd really like some time alone. actually, some time to talk with Toby." He said.

Oh great. He was probably gonna tell me that he hates me and that he's never going to talk to me again. This day is going so great.

"H-Hey Riley." i nervously started.

"Toby." he said

"Yes?" I asked

"I was in a car accident." he stated.

"Yeah, RIley we know." I answered. Wasn't it obvious that he was in a car accident? We were in a hospital!!

"Do you know where I was leaving from?" he asked.

"Yes. You were with Ryann." I said

"Yes. I was with Ryann. Where she told me that she loved you. And not me." He angrily said.

"Riley, that has nothing to do with me. I like her a lot, too. Hell, I might even love her. I'm sorry that you and her didn't work out, but that's out of my hands." i replied

"Toby, I swear to god. If you start dating her, I will kill you." He said.

I knew that this was just a dumb threat, but I still took it to heart. I didn't want my brother to hate me. 

"I'm sorry Riley. But I love her. And I plan on being with her." I said.

"Fine." that was the last thing he said to me before I left.

Ryann's POV

I rushed over to the hospital, where I met Emilie out front. 

"Where is he?" I asked about Riley.

"He's in his room. He's fine, but him and Toby were talking. Most likely about you. This sin't good, Ryann. I think Riley is really upset about you and Toby." she said.

"I know. That's why I came here. To make things right." I answered.

I slowly walked to Room 103 - Riley's room. I was nervous to see him, because I knew that he didn't want to see me. I was hoping that what I was about to say to him would work. I could only try.

I knocked on the door, and none other than Toby opened it.

"Ryann. WHat are you doing here?" he asked/

"I'm here to see Riley. Is he okay? Can I talk to him?" I asked.

Toby opened the door for me to come in, and instead of leaving, he entered toe room, too.

"Riley, I..." i started.

"Ryann." He said. "You need to make a choice. You have been leading both me and Toby on for too long." He simply said.

I was truly confused. And internally conflicted. I couldn't possibly choose one of the McDonoughs over the other. I didn't want to break one heart, and be with the other. As much as I wanted to be with Toby, I couldn't do that to them.

"I'm not going to choose." I said. "I couldn't do that to you guys."

"Look, Ryann. No matter who you choose, we won't hate you. We can get on with our lives. As much as I want you to chose me, If you chose Riley, I could never stay mad at you." Toby said.

"Same here. No matter who you chose, We wont hate you." Riley agreed.

"Okay. Then I choose......."
